Q:

Edgun vs. air wolf

Would like your opinion on which gun to get.
I love how compact the edgun is but am curious about the air wolf.
I dont hunt at this time but may in the future.
The electronics worry me and heard the lock time is far shorter than the edgun. I have had two edguns and know they have long lock times.
However the edgun is built like a tank and the wolf looks fragile in the thumbhole area.
Thanks.

‘Magnet….if you are going to make a change like that, why not make a BIG change?

Go to .25 caliber. Personally, I’d go with the Air Ranger, and do without the electronics and batteries. The Ranger is a tad cheaper, but 80 FPE out of the box, and some consider it to also be somewhat accurate.

There is no more satisfying sound than a 35gr pellet smacking a critter in the side, or head. They simply seem “more dead” than they are with a .22 pcp. If you need “more dead” than that, you can go to a six ring 65gr slug and blow them in half…that way you get twice as much “dead” for your buck!

Unless it’s a “one or the other”, why not have both? The best of both worlds for two different kinds of shooting. I’ve never heard of anyone complaining about the accuracy and performance of the .25 caliber in a quality rifle.

Just a thought.

I have an Edgun, my shooting pal has an AW MCT.

I love the edgun, but I do enjoy the AW too.. Why? It shoots far more easy then my edgun, less concentration needed and is so… just a smile when you shoot it.. but at the end not as precise.
I do competition so precision is a must for me. That’s why I choose an edgun.

I have an MFR , bottle vs. tube doesn’t bother me.
I have a shit load of .22 ammo already
Once the gun is received the wait time is forgotten, I waited 6 months for my MFR.
I guess for me it boiles down to once the edgun goes up to $1950. it is only about $400. more for an air wolf.
While the Edgun is a working piece of art I am wondering if the air wolf is worth the extra money in the long run.

What about the difference in triggers?

Bottle vs tube… Unless you go for the MK4.

What caliber were you thinking?

The scope rails are very different, weaver vs dovetail…

Wait times…

Fair enough,
Edgun pros,
compact
built like a tank
good shot count for its size
shoot critters from car
cons
availability of parts( if Ed can’t fix shipping issues )
very long lock time
did not like the air leaking past the breach and hitting me in the ear
easy to shoot critters from car (got busted a couple of times)
air wolf pros
short lock time
electronics ?
cons
electronics
large
stock look fragile
I have never held an air wolf, mostly looking for objective opinions between the two. I am asking here because I don’t trust the yellow.

So why would YOU choose an AW and why an Edgun..
Please put YOUR pro’s and contra’s here and then we can maybe give some good advice.. 🙂
Otherwise, you will be buying a gun someone else likes..
