Q:

Edgun vs. Falcon C

Hey guys I would like your opinions. I want to get a PCP carbine and was going back and forth between the AA S410 carbine and the Beeman Falcon C. Now I may ditch both of those and get an Edgun. Size is an important factor in my choice. Both the S410 and the Falcon C have plenty of power for what I need. Mostly rabbits and squirrels out to 50-60 yards. The Edgun has even more power and is much shorter. I would lose the multi-shot but I don’t believe I would really miss it in the field??? What do you guys think? Is multi-shot vs. single shot a deal breaker for anyone. I emailed the guy in Florida that imports them and he said that any warranty work is done by him here is the USA. That made me feel better. I keep seeing reports from the guys that have an Edgun and they all seem to love their gun. 18gr JSBs @950 fps and 50 plus shot to a fill. Sounds too good to be true. I would have to save up a bit more money but it looks to be worth it. What do you all think???

I own none of the above, but judging by your needs, Ed-Gun all day long.

Mmmmmm, Ed-Gun……

I like a hunting gun that can be un-cocked. When I start out on a hunt I like to put a pellet in then un-cock the hammer so thay I am quicker when the time comes to shoot.

Thats the same way I do.

I also want to get the standard version. Just wasn’t sure what models they were importing. Thanks again for your fast reply. I look forward to joining the “Edgun Brotherhood”.

When I ordered mine, Tony only was getting the standard versions. I thought that I wanted the long version, am happy that I got the standard now. Edward (Edgun’s owner) has an english version of the Edgun forum, http://edgun.ru/forum/index.php?s=5d3493e462563ff92854bc98bea21597&showforum=55

Edward says that he has trouble getting the long barrels right now and long guns wont be available till at least late September.

Wow! You guys are quick. Thanks for the info. I like a hunting gun that can be un-cocked. When I start out on a hunt I like to put a pellet in then un-cock the hammer so thay I am quicker when the time comes to shoot. Oldgoat, I can sure tell that you are proud of you Edgun. When you guys ordered from Tony did you specify which model length you wanted or are they only importing the standard length? I saw on the Edgun web site that there are actually 3 choices of length. Thanks,
Kenny

I don’t know that one. Afraid to test it out, might break something. The owners manual is in Russian and I have no idea if it tells about un cocking. I am working on geting the manual translated.

Call or Email tony, he would know if it is possible.

I have to show my Edgun off to family and friends when I see them. I act like a proud dad with a new kid LOL. Everyone has to grab it, shoulder it and shoot it a few times. I hear compliments like; look at the way it is put together, I love the finish, it holds so steady, looks like it belongs in Star Wars or on a SWAT team, it is so quiet, you say it can kill a crow at 150 yards?

I haven’t read any negative posts from any owner yet. I would buy another one in a heartbeat.

It can be uncocked but you will have to fire it to unload it.Just hold the bolt back and pull the trigger then ease the bolt forward.

Thanks guys. I really appreciate you taking the time to give me your comments and opinions. One more question; can the Edgun be un-cocked after you load it and then decide not to shoot?

I agree with Tackdriver. I have had my Edgun for about a month and absolutly love it! Mine shoots 18.1 JSB’s at 900 fps for the first 58 shots, as set from the factory. It is susposed to be easy to adjust the speed, I just haven’t done it yet. I like to night shoot pigeons under bridges. My longest night shot was 65 yards and the pellet went right thru the piegon and made a pretty good clang hitting a girder.

I have a 33 yard range set up in my yard and have shot a 5 shot group measuring .127″ ctc. 1/4″ 33 yard groups are easy.

I also have a 24″ barrel shrouded Condor that I like a lot. Quiet, powerful, accurate, long and heavy. I don’t really like lugging it around, fun to shoot off of my rest.

The Edgun is as quiet, almost as powerful, more accurate, shorter and lighter. It is fun to just hold and admire. Fit and finish is good and is built like a fine watch. shoulders and points really good. It is a joy to carry in the woods. In fact, I have to watch myself as I tend to want to carry it single handed, like a pistol, and end up banging it on stuff.

I don’t miss the multi shot, one shot has worked for me so far.

Tony, the importer, is great to deal with.

The only downside that I have found on the Edgun is the $1499 cost. My girlfriend wants one and if they were the price of a Condor, I would get her one.

You like to hunt…Size and WEIGHT are an important factor….Accuracy and amount of shots – important. Now single shot is not that important, one shot one kill…. Well you need an Edgun. The others on your list are all high end guns, but they weigh more, are longer and you have to worry about the wood. You throw a strap on the Edgun and sling it across your back and go. I just got done shooting mine out back at a target 35yards off and I cannot miss. It loves Kodiaks. Also I added a second moderator on the end of the barrel today and now my report is absolutely MISSING. All you hear is “ping”.

Lovely rifle.
