Q:

edguns arrived now with pics!

WOOT!!

3 , count um 3 brand new edgun matador,s arrived today all 22 cal.
serial numbers 25,24,13.
have to be honest thought they were over rated , i admit it BUT i was wrong ! the fit and finish is excellent with a stunning walnut stock, easily as good as any theoben i have owned, very impressed .The packaging was way over the top, again excellent. And the turn around from order to delivery considering how far thay had to come …well i know how long some people on here have to wait so lets just say i can count the weeks on one hand πŸ˜€

Is there a comprehensive list of the tweaks needed on here anyplace ?
all the guns arrived at 11.5 ft lb to conform to uk law …so thats the first job lol
Hmmm….now we have 3 edguns and there are is only me and my boss to use them 😈 its hard to be me 😈

The FPS advice will be followed 100% as i woudnt know whwere else to start thanks.
i have no idea what you mean about turning the trigger assembly one turn out, unless its cylindrical? but im sure ill know by the end of next week as i will prob be inside them by then πŸ˜€
The mod on the slide bar (the 45% shamfer to let the bolt close without the hard click) does not appear to be needed on these ones its very smooth.
By the way i saw your stripping video on you tube was very informative
but the pink cowboy hat and spurs were a bit much 😈

once again thank you.
regards lyn.

Hi Lyndon. Welcome to the Edgun owner’s crazies here!

I think that I read somewhere that Ed just turns the hammer spring tension adjusting screw out for guns that go to you bloody wankers in the UK. πŸ˜† If that is so, you just need to remove the stock, loosen the locking screw and turn the HST screw in. Try a 1/2 turn in, it will take more but, it is a start.

Put the gun back in the stock (don’t worry about the HST lock screw or the trigger guard screw) and shoot the gun thru the chrony. You want to be somewhere between 880 and 910 fps, using JSB Exact Heavies. I haven’t found any other pellet that is even close to the JSBs when it comes to accuracy. I like 895 +- 4 fps for the full fill.

When you get it set at 880-910, refill the gun and check it again. I find that a new fill can change the fps set point. You might have to give the HST a slight adjustment. I don’t have a clue why this happens, it just does. When you get the gun set, lock the set screw down and, ENJOY!

The longer front trigger screw takes some adjusting to get set right but, in my opinion, makes the trigger a lot better. The longer screw allows you to adjust the 1st stage and the break.

I have done the mod on my R3 and the trigger is still not as good as my R2.5’s trigger is. The R3’s break is a little heavier. I still need to take the 2 screws out that secure the trigger assembly to the hammer housing, turn the trigger assembly 1 turn out, reassemble and turn the screw in more.

I am no expert at this. I have just been playing with my Edguns for a couple of years and am relaying what works for me. Your mileage may vary! πŸ˜†

post on that thread i linked to get old goat’s attention. he’s helped others and i’m sure he’d help you, if he’s able.

Thanks Kglad99 ive allready seen that sir and have added it to favourites on you tube its a Very good tutorial i have also taken note of the mod he does to the trigger housing so the bolt slides better at the lock in point.
If i can ide like a little more detail on the longer trigger adjustment screw people seem to deem neccesary, and also any other things i may have missed.
thanks for the reply sir. lyn.

i think old goat has some references (youtube) on adjusting your regulator:
