Hi guys.
Because I am in the next few weeks buying a new Rm3 and then saw the picture of the ‘new Edgun’ I didn’t want to buy one and then find that a new one would be out a month later. So I emailed Ed and asked the question.
Is it being made?

His reply is

No, that is somebody’s joke.

With the best regards

your photoshopping skills are really stirring the pot!!

Soze since 95% of these critters are Monkeys we require pictures. It’s obvious there are not enough pictures and simple diagrams. I don’t know but if you had watched the youtube Greg put up you would understand this. I can relate to a smiley :biggrinn:

Ed won’t spill the beans to you bums. It would kill his current R3M sales and his resellers would be pissed. Besides, even if a new gun came out in Q1 2016, we won’t see it available until 2017. Ed is a creative designer but his promise to deliver isn’t his strong points.

Ed

I want a .35!!!
I need. A 9mm I have big game that’s needs more power!

what’s a higher ups? do you mean “higher-up” Secondly if your reading comprehention was a little “higher-ups” you would see that Ed posted that information …

quote Pippo:

are you speaking only .30 or also the smaller calibers?

The R3 was missing in your offer.

Plan to start with .25 and .30 with 700 mm length of the barrel, without choke, then we’ll see.

Today finally we can see in practice what we have learned at school many years ago….

Competition on a free market is good, products and services get better and prices become reasonable…

EDucational 😀

No, we just got the possibility to use few of our CNC machines for samples productions, so now have change to make all my ideas in metal 🙂

700mm barrel? That would mean it would be e a full size rifle and not a bullpup?

Plan to make it bullpup and keep the almost the same size as Long R3, at least to fit the same case. Plan to make a new moderator, shorter but the same effective. Working on the samples.

Ed, how about a kick ass 9mm? I saw you got two grouse with the .30 on your facebook page, are you using the 30 more now for forest grouse?

Yes, I use only Matador R3, single shot .30 for hunting now. No problem with single shot, enough time to make a second shot if neccesary. I am working on 9 mm. gun. That will be something different nobody expect it 🙂 I think you all will like it 🙂

Jesus Chist Oakey….

Tony, can you please offer a picture only forum for oakey?, these them there words be to c o m p l i m i c a t e d for oakey

Yeah it’s Soze the self appointed EDgun nut. He has imaginery conversations with the higher ups at EDgun and then he tells folks a new platforms is coming hense the Auto Cad RM4 a barrel as long as the gun. This is what happens when you live in Sol Cal plenty of Peyote and San Pedro. Or maybe Ed is really tellig him this. One never knows in the world of the EDgun what is real and what is imaginery. There is a time disconnect this is for certain.

Yeah we know…

Pip only Ed can answer that. I know there is a larger platform gun built specifically for big bores. Ed said the new R4 could even be made into a 9mm. I know the Morana has already been improved so that’s not one of the new 4 guns.

So here’s my wild ass guess
R4 .30
Repeater Lelya
R4 .22
R4 .25

Do you know if Ed considers the Matador platform all together 1 gun or are the Matadors Sub-Compact (new), Compact (ex-short), Standard and Long considered 4 guns?

4 new guns (platform or not) each in 4 to 6 different calibers makes a lot of guns 😀

For me the EDgun is just about perfect. I hunt with my EDguns and the simplicity is like the AK-47, it can be fixed in minutes and if problems arise they are easy to diagnose. Own an EDgun for awhile and you’ll be an expert on how it works in very little time. What the R4 will become is a mystery but I hope it maintains it’s simple design. Ed mentioned a 720 mm barrel and a platform that is built around a larger caliber. The valve stem will be 3 mm. At this time Ed is hiding his other improvements.

I do agree with pip a smoother magazine indexing (although I tuned mine to be butter smooth) would be fantastic. I would also like to see a magazine that could not be double loaded (Weihrauch) and was almost automatic (Weihrauch). I would also like the magazine to be flush with the receiver like the Colibri. All this doesn’t manner cuz ya’all know I’m a sucker for EDguns, the good thing is Ed is slow so I have time to save.

Just FYI Ed said he has 4 new guns for 2016…

IMHO while not being great, I consider the trigger being acceptable for mainly a hunting tool, what I consider not being acceptable is the cycling/indexing mechanism, at least I can’t stand it on a 2500 USD gun (this was the price when the R3M matador was first released…)

Some people are happy with the indexing mechanism but I never had a chance to try one of those supposedly fine working puppies….

Certainly also a new fine tunable trigger unit would be very welcome since it increases “shooting pleasure” and also because other players have it already.

For those ones liking “the sound of silence” probably considering further improvements in the noise reduction department would also be very welcome (silent action without hammer noise, ping, etc).

The list of possible improvements is very long and many members have already given their contributions, Ed has already a long list to check where to start from.

Great guns however trigger sucks. I index the gun manuelly by hand.

There has been an improvement within the trigger since the R 2.5.
But Ed seemed to have just rearranged the geometry to seek an improvement in the feel, more than once apparently without that much of a big difference.

Simple in its design yes, but is it too simply ?

A mark improvement in the consistency and feel may require a more complex trigger group.

Lets start to see if Ed will be able to make a smooth cycling and properly indexing action, that already would be a major improvement just to stay in business.

It’s already several years that he is working on this and based on customers feedback apparently without much success.
