Effect on cutting down a condor barrel on power??
I am curious to find what cutting down a 24 inch barrel down 13-14 inches..or if any of you have dropped a shorter 12″ LW into a Condor, a carbine condor in .22 interests me… for quiet clandestine higher fpe pest needs over my TSS .177 tossing heavies. I am aware that the 24″ tube and hotter valve/hammer make the condor THE higher power player and etc ..but would appreciate any input from those who dropped in a shorter barrel. Appreciated. John

Co2Sniper,
I love my “Ccndor SS” with it’s 12″ barrel. I guess I just like how quick handling it is. A good rule of thumb for barrel sizes vs. FPS in .22 Condors is;
For every 1″ shorter than a standard 24″ barrel a Condor looses 22FPS.
So your 1120 FPS Condor with a 24″ barrel will shoot 860 FPS with a 12″ barrel. If you are planning to shoot Co2 from your 12″ Condor plan for velocities around that of a $60.00 Co2 gun. I wouldn’t mess with cutting and machinining a 24″ barrel when you buy a 12″ factory LW barrel for a little over $100.00. Good luck!
