With EDgun Matador, standard, .25. The velocity of JSB King 25 grain is 279 m/sec (916 f/sec). I just want to remind you that I set the task for myself few years ago to make the gun capable to shoot accurate at the distance above 100 meters. That is why I made a lot of test with barrels, ordering dozens of them from Lothar Walther with different inside diameters, different grooves, twists etc. just to find out the best combination for barell/JSB pellet to have it shooting accurate at the distance above 100 meters. So, I think I am close to execute my task, 150 meters at 50 mm. target constant hitting is not bad for airgun, I think…

Do you expect to change the twist rate once the Heavy jsb super kings are available? Or is is the difference not enough to matter?

Yes, correct, due to more heavier pellet, better BC, better wind resistants. As for pellets I use only JSB.
I ordered LW barrels wtih step of twist 10 mm from 350 up to 500 mm, ten barrels every twist and then tested, tested, tested 🙂
Awesome shooting. I got no proof, but I made the shot of a lifetime last night. 250 yards, at -14 incline, I was showing my brother in law what the r3m 25 standard could do. I took about 20 shots at some shit floating in the pond and once I had a god idea of my hold over, I aimed at a branch about 3/8″ thick. I never expected to actually hit the thing cause I was crouching in a weird way in order to use the porch railing as a rest. Well, I hit it the first shot and could not believe it. I didn’t even try to act cool as if that was something I do every day. I stood straight up and said “fuck, I hit it! Holy shit, I actually hit the dam thing!” I put the gun down for the night cause I just knew I wasn’t going to make another shot like that.

If the stock lw barrels have a twist rate of 17.7″ to one, and you tried several diffrent rates, what ratio did you end up using for the 25 caliber?

I think up to 100 meters are equal. We are catching the weather now to shoot EDgun Matador short .22 for 100 meters, if we are lucky you will see it soon.

Yes, I saw it only when I watched video 🙂 So, 113 meters, the pelelt penetrates it through body and has a lot of energy to go up to 200 meters on the water 🙂

Fantastic shooting Ed with the bonus of a seagull at the end !
I often get requests to ‘thin out’ there numbers as they can become a problem in some areas and the .25 R3M Matador is my personal choice for this task as it hits them absolutely spot on and with ‘Authority’ out to good ranges. I look forward to trying a .30 cal out on them some day, ‘poof’ goes the seagull I think !
