Eley magnum pellets
AoA as these pellets. Anyone elts give these a go ? What do you think of these pellets in the condor ?

I would return them then. Maybe it’s a QA problem and they are not sized right. Someone did not calibrate or set the machine properly and produced slightly bigger bullets. They shoud fit just fine and should not stick out at all. I am surprised the valve opened up. The AF site says the pellets must be pushed in all the way or the gun may not “fire”.
Yes, got the right pellets, just dont want to seat right in. No probs with any other pellets so i know its not the barrel.
I shot a few of them through the chrony today but didn’t have time to do any target shooting. I will do that this wknd. The Eleys I have fit fine! I would even say they went in with ease, definitely easier than Kodiaks! I did very little pushing with my finger.
Are you sure you got the 5.5mm and not the 5.6mm? Does the tin have a yellow label on it that says “5.5mm .22 cal.” side by side? Does yours also say “300 solid No2 pellets” on top? I got this tin on a trade and it looks kind of old but I believe they make 5.6mm (or 5.56mm) Eleys too.
You ‘re right – they definitely hit hard. First I put a couple of Kodiaks through the chorny shooting at two (2) 2×4″‘s one behind the other. I usually leave the power dial at 2 on my Condor. Not all the way low at 1 but a little over on the #2. The Kodiaks were shooting in the 990’s (46fpe). They went through the first 2×4 (about 5.5yds from the chrony) but did not have enough energy to enter the 2nd one so they were right on its surface and easily fell off when I seperated the 2 boards.
I then shot 3 Elleys and got 915fps, 911 & 910fps (57fpe!), 11fpe more. They hit hard as hek easily going through the 1st 2×4 and completely into the 2nd 2×4 where I could not not get them out unless I dug them out. The report (shrouded barrel) also sounded different from all the other regular pellets I have shot (mainly JSB Jumbos, Kodiaks and EunJin 28.4gr) for some reason which surprised me. I can’t explain it, it’s hard to describe but it was a different kind of noise when I shot the Eleys.
I don’t know how much better the Eleys can do than the Kodiaks because I was shooting 5-shot groups in the same hole earlier with the Kodiaks @ 30yds. I think the only way I will find out is if I go to the range to do some 50 to 100yd shooting and compare the 2. The Kodiaks seem to do exceptionally well on this gun when traveling under 1,000fps (as should be expected).
Ok, just fired off some of these new pellets.
For a start, REALLY difficult to put in. Had to really push and even then it dosn’t want to go all the way in, about .5mm sticks out !!
As for firing them, well, boy do they go!! Getting 15mm groupings at 37 yards and they passing through inch think particle board, then through pine slats, and finally smashing holes in the heavy duty blocks behind that ! 😆
Swear i can feel a little recoil too??
Can’t wait to see how they perform at 50yrds and most importantly, how will little Thumper like them!

I will be interested to read how these shoot for you guys. I have shot a few different rounds that didn’t have the Diablo look about them and I had trouble keeping them stabized enough and from tumbling…
I do like the idea of the larger weight of these, they sure would carry a heck of a thump at POI… Damn sure if you guys sing them as hard as it sounds like you can LOL…

Ok I got to shoot a few groups with the 31gr Eleys .22 today after I figured out the pressure fill where the gun shoots consistently through the Chrony. Suprisingly they fit loosely in the breech. Much more than the Kodiaks which seem to have the perfect fit. The Eleys pretty much slide into the breech with no effort whatsoever. Now this is an old tin of Eleys that I got on a trade. There is some rust starting to form on the tin so either they were stored in a very damp room or they they are several years old and the new ones could be different. The EJ’s (28.4gr) fit VERY tight and I have to push them in hard. I don’t like them and they shoot the widest groups – almost all over the place.
The Eleys are much more accurate than the EJ 28gr and SamYang 32gr. However, they are NOT as accurate as the Kodiaks, at least not in my gun. I was shooting same hole groups time after time with the Kodiaks @990fps). The Eley (910-920fps) groups were tight but about 1 out of 5 seemed to be a flyer resulting in 0.5″ CTC or more in 5-shot groups at 30yds. Usually about 2 out of 5 would go in the same hole so they are to be taken seriously, just not as good as the Kodiaks. It could be me but I ‘d shoot Kodiaks again to make sure the gun (and me) was shooting properly, and 4 or all 5 Kodiaks would go in the same hole or at least all touch each other to make a bigger hole smaller than a dime. Back to the Eleys I ‘d go, and I could only accomplish 2 shots in one hole with the other 3 not far off (usually 0.35″) but there would be a dang “flyer” every time 0.5-0.6″ low & off to the right a little in every 5-shot group. After I shot 5 groups I gave up. I didn’t want to shoot the whole tin in one day since these are probably the most expensive pellets out there.
Still much better than the dang EJ’s so I was happy I have found a heavy pellet that I can live with. I ‘m starting to hate the EJ pellets. My Condor doesn’t like them. It feels like I ‘m damaging the breech they fit so tight and I have not been able to get better than a 0.65″ CTC group with them at only 30yds. I ‘m afraid to clean the barrel because the Kodiaks shoot so well so I ‘ll be selling all the new EJ tins I bought soon.
