Q:

Enough is Enough is Enough!

When I got back into this sport, I must admit I was a total neophyte. The only guns I had as a kid was a Daisy Red Ryder and a Crosman 760. I knew nothing about pellet weights and sorting. All I knew was to go down to my local Western Auto and pick up bb’s in the 500 count milk carton when I got my allowance. My weekend would consists of shooting the occasional sparrow and shooting a few tin cans. And back then, if you could get the bb to go through the can, you were actually doing something. But it was fun. No expectations. No worrying about hold or holdover. Just pure unadulterated fun.

But now we come to the present. My enthusiasm has changed a bit but I’m still that same kid at heart. I still love to shoot cans and the occasional sparrow. But what has changed is what I use. I no longer have that Red Ryder or 760. I have FX’s, Daystate’s, Benjamin’s, Gamo’s and Xisico. I also try to shoot ½ inch or better groups whenever I can. I have a nice range in my back yard and I can shoot everyday if I want. And most of the time I do.

And then there came forums. What a concept. I can share my experiences with airguns and learn about others’. And it all started out great. People shared stories, pictures, hunts and target practice. They shared their experiences with certain guns they either liked or disliked. It was truly a great community to be in.

But with a lot of families or communities things sometimes take a turn. We forget about the passion we used to know as a kid plinking away on a weekend. We forget that some people are just that; people. So when we disagree with these people we lash out. We call them names. We threaten them, their families and there way of life. Over what…….bb guns. Folks it isn’t that serious. And I am finding myself getting upset over being banned from a forum over bb guns. We all need to get things in perspective. I have and I hope you do to.

( I could have gotten really deep with this and named people, places and things. But I won’t do that. I just hope all of you can read between the lines and realize what’s going on in our beloved sport. Stop with all of the nonsense and get the passion back before we lose it altogether. Let’s get back to enjoying our bb guns)

Keith.

quote GunnerJacky:

I agree that forum is one of the best places to share the experiences in firearms. But it may also impose some threats if the forum is not properly moderated. I have been to many gun related forum where I got banned because of sharing some links to external websites. I didn’t expect them to ban me as I shared only the relevant content with them. Anyways, it is the policy of the forum not to post links. Since then I only try to share information about guns in texts. 😎

Moderators should moderate in moderation!

Otherwise, it is our profound desire that they go fuck themselves, and the horse they rode in on!

When someone on the TAG misbehaves…he/she receives a generous ration of shit from the other forum members. It’s not pretty, but weeds out the trouble-makers and idiots. Seldom does WOK have to intervene. Combined, we know more insults, in more languages, than any gun related forum on the ‘net. Failure to use these slurs and derogatory statements about troublesome individuals, and their relatives, would be a waste of culture.

We pride ourselves on the vast treasury of vulgarity, cuss words, curses, disrespectful statements, insults, profanity, and other sophisticated, but degenerate instruments of communication utilized to educate and inform the ignorant masses who frequent this site.

Offending other forum members should never be taken lightly…it’s an art! It’s what we do here, and if you can’t do it properly you should avoid this site.

Kind regards,

Uncle Hoot:

PS: Post your links!!! How the hell else are we to find these places on our own?

Some guys do not want to post here because the conversation is not controlled and they are held responsible for what they say and I am not going to baby sit them and their b.s.

When a gun is challenged it is often here on the TAG where it is sorted out. We are not on the payroll of of any store or company. In fact even Airforce takes issue with us…lol

The airgun reviewers that get free guns, discounts or are on the payroll are pretty much worthless and I trust the people here with their reviews much more no matter how many “fucks” are dropped.

This is not a Sunday School class, this is an equal opportunity adult forum dropping knowledge even if it hurts feelings.

Banning people is honestly pretty rare on other types of forums. I am a member of several firearm forums and I have only ever seen spam bots banned. The only person banned usually is the guy who threatens someone. The reason why airgun forums are different comes from two main factors. First it’s a smaller market. Secondly we have some dealers that have paid owners of forums to manipulate content. If a poster is a threat to that manipulation (like I was) then they will be subseqently banned. In the end I believe the free market will prevail. I have seen more new people on this forum as of late. The reason is Tony doesn’t manipulate this forum. So my feeling is come to TAG and don’t expect to get away with bullshitting people. The other forums are becoming very boring. So fuck it, post here. Make TAG the #1 forum to teach these unethical bastards a lesson.

Well well…….

I really behaved myself in the short time I was on teds forum. I enjoyed the target section, but really never made any friends there and that may have played a role later. Honestly if you don’t really know anybody around are you going to give a fuck when it comes time to speak up?

I expressed my thoughts about keyser being banned, was then threatened by Michael, then I expressed my true feelings because I was leaving anyway. Of course they banned me

Now did they really think we would be quite about these things ? Nobody’s got their back anymore. They gotta do the work themselves now, and they are doing a piss poor job of it!

Honestly we haven’t posted much on the subject until last Friday when comments were made. More than likely that was a knee jerk reaction to a defector coming over here to ask questions about the mutant. Everyone from aircunt nation needs to come to the reality, that many opinions differ, and not allowing open debate is what cause the current situation.

Also………. NO ONE HAS THREATENED ANYONES FAMILY !!!! ( to my knowledge ) if I see that posted again shits going to get interesting :fishinghole:

Hi,

I share you pain, but at the same time, a forum is “private property” of those who maintain it, spend the time and money to make it work and run.
There is no free speech in a forum unless the owner let it be so.

So all the rants in the world will not help that. I do agree with you that there are lots of crazies out there in the forums that blow things out of proportion, are rude and are probably better left alone. BUT, it’s their forum and if they don’t like what you say it is their privilege and right to kick you out of their property even if they are totally in the wrong.

If they don’t want you int whatever forum you have been kicked out from, consider that they probably did you a favor. At least you are not in the same bunch and you put yourself a part from the nuts.

Forums are as good as the people that frequents them. Once the crowds get nasty (including the moderators), it’s better to leave than be associated to them.

Some moderators are awesome and let you be, they support lively conversation. Others are just bad, maybe too busy to wanted to deal with others and should probably give up the responsibility.

So to conclude: you got kicked out of somebody’s yard. Well, you might be the best guy in the world but that is their yard.

Cheers
Chris
