Etac/Reg evaluation
After about a month of playing with the Etac/Reg setup this is where I settled at. This should give people considering the Etac/reg setup a good idea of what to expect. The fill was to 3000psi, on a standard AF tank. I had this shooting at 900fps, but the shot count went way down, took it down to low 800fps, shot count way up, SD is GREAT.
Talon ss/18″ barrel/.25Cal/high flow valve/27.8gr pellet

The average was 794fps at 10 yards = 824 at muzzle for 50 shots, about 40fp energy
The SD= 3.44…., This is exceptional and 5 or 6 is more realistic
3.44 is EXCELLENT !!!
I really like 824fps, for the first time in a long time I can watch the pellets fly, I really like that.
Did it help my groupings and accuracy?
Maybe a little bit. But I still can’t do consistant .5″ in groups at 50 yards…1″ is my average, with a few .75″ in the mix. I need a higher end gun!
Cons: Now that I get 50 shots a tank, I use 50 pellets EVERY time.
Cons: 3 inches added to lenght of gun.
Pros: A little better accuracy, fewer high-low shots
Pros: More ergonomic gun with the Etac drop
Pros: Nice to have Fill port and pressure gauge on gun
This setup is not for the power mongers wanting to shoot Jerry’s (Timmys) slugs. But if you are one of those guys filling to 2000-2400psi, then this could get you around 50+ consistent shots. More if at lower velocities.
