Etac-reg question
Hi all,
I’m thinking that a regulator would be the key to better consistency with my condor but I am unsure of a few things. It seems that 2000 psi output works well with the kodiaks, but my rifle likes heavier pellets too like the eun Jin 28 grain so I may go with a 2200 psi reg.
What i’m wondering is if the top hat and power wheel will still influence the rifle like before and if so, does anyone have suggestions where to start?
I was also thinking of sending the whole rig to talon tunes after i get a regulator and pay someone smarter than me to adjust everything.
I have read through a lot of the etac discussions and can’t find the answer I’m looking for.
Any help would be appreciated.

You have to have multiple tanks. I have 4 tanks, 3 53 ci and a 62 ci with different valves. 2 of them have etac regs. The only way to have consistant results is a reg. I get right around 60 shots with 30 fps difference with a 53 ci tank and a 2000 psi reg. Could get more with bigger spread. It shoots .25 JSB’s from 945 fps to 915 fps. I haven’t finished the kodiac reg setup yet. Want to push them at 950 fps with a 2000 psi reg also. Still working on more volume for the reg. Tophat, hammer and spring preload with a reg has no effect on my gun with a reg. I run all my valves at .100 for a tight breech. Preloading the spring doesn’t change fps at all so I run it at 0 with reg. Problem is there isn’t enough volume for the reg and thats what I’m working on. With my other tank and Blod valve I turn the preload up to 12 and get 1050 fps. With Tony’s valves I get mid 990’s. Going to put the Blod valve stem in the mill and open up the ports to see if that is where more is at. I had tophat set at .184 to make it work with the breeh for a while. Made a spacer so now it only moves .100 and it didn’t change fps at all. So I need to get more air through the stem I think. If anybody needs help with reg setup let me know. I have shims to clock the reg to the etac and to clock the etac to the gun. If it’s to far off I face off where the valve is and redo the o ring grove.
I just had that conversation with Tony myself. I own a AAA Condor and have to run my tank around 1700 psi start pressure to shoot kings. He seems to think I will be better off with a standard flow valve to shoot the lighter .25 pellets and .22 also. I decided to go with his advice and am waiting for a new tank from him. When it comes I will chrony the #’s and give a report on here. I think there is a benefit to the e-tac by canting the tank and lowering the scope but for me being able to go from heavy pellets or slugs to light pellets by simply changing tanks and re zeroing is more important to me.

Play with the powerwheel, hammer weight, and a spacer between the tophead and vavlehouse.
the spacer between tophead and vavlehouse gives more shots,
and less blast behind the pellet ( lost air ).

I’ve been lurking and studying the Condor builds. For my next gun I want to put together a Condor with my 68ci paintball tank with the eTac and jds 4500 regulator.
I haven’t decided if I would start with a 25 cal or not, but that info is helpful.
I’ve been wondering what output pressure the reg needed to be and if there would be enough volume to push a larger caliber bullet if I went with a .308 build.
Any advice?
