Q:

experiences – comparison of Edgun and Condor / SSS

Hi there,

I’m searching for a accurate and powerful PCP since a long time (small bore).

Came again along the Airforce Condor (Gunpower SSS) AND new one, the Edgun Matador.

What will be the better choice?

I konw, that there are a lot of possibilities for tunes on the Condor / SSS. Is there any comparabel option for the Edguns?

What about quality and accuracy of both?

Thanks

EdGun

If it helps..
I almost maxxed the Matador in power.. The screw can go a little further, but I wanted to test the reg on this setting:

I like it 🙂

We all understood what you said. The important thing is to say something. Your English is fine, better than most hill billies in Arkansas can speak, but then you probably still have your teeth.

Keep contributing. If we have questions we will ask you. No one is shy around this nut house.

What have you done with yours in detail (listing of parts and steps please). And see above – possible with the Gunpower SSS, too?

Thanks @ll

Im not sure about the Gunpower SSS, i heared its the same rifle but diffrent name.

Mine is modifed with my own Hammer, Hammer spring & Breach. My Hammer slides on the barrel not the frame & therefore smoother.

The rest is from Tony including the Stock.

I’ve owned both.

There is one difference, and this is where buyer preference comes into play.

1) Take the Matador out of the box, and the pellets have an alarming habit of entering the same hole in the target at various distances.

1a) There are no necessary adjustments on the Matador for the average user, which probably excludes most of this forum members.

1b) As of today, there are no modifications needed, or available, for a Matador. The exception being Ed’s possible new retro-rit semi-auto action.

1c) The AF series of products literally BEG to be modified, accessorized, accurized, powerized, personalized, and colorized.

If you want to shoot a gun, buy the Matador. If you like to work on guns, buy the AF.

Hi guys,

fine to read that…

Mmmhh, I read some info about the Matadors, which are much the same what ‘Hoot’ wrote.

By the way, my problem here is, that I cannot get a Condor, because we only can order the Gunpower SSS.

Is the SSS same stuff like the Condor?

I read, that they are only from the outer view the same…

I have both & the Condor is fully modified with some of Tony’s stuff & a Hammer (120g) and main spring by me & it shoots well & isnt as picky with ammo as the Edgun but the Edgun has something special where you just fall in love with it & you never know why.

Its accurate & powerfull, has the looks too & great shot count but again, its very tough to get your hands on one, mine is the Long .25 & i shoot JSB 25gr with it @ 920 fps.

Here are some pictures of the Condor, its .25 caliber with 24” LW barrel.

No I can not.
That’s why I said: I can only speak for the matador 🙂

The difference is: The Edgun you take it out of the case and you start shooting. The only thing you have to do is adjusting the trigger. That’s it. (and if you really want you can also adjust the reg in it) But there is no more to change.
With the airforce guns.. In my opinion they beg you for being altered. Not because they are not so good*better then the Edguns, but.. It’s a work airgun for me.

@kazzz,

can you compare it to any of the airforce guns? is it, in any way, superior?

I can only speak for the Matador: buy one and look never back 🙂
It’s what they say: great!

flag tbln930.

he’s been comparing the edgun and his stubby – which is hybrid condor/talon ss with a matador-like stock (just to make things more confusing). but, at least, you can buy the condor/stubby.
