Q:

expert help me solve this :)

Hi ,

i’m facing a little trouble with my Matador to be honest i’m not an expert, i have never deal with any PCP airguns before !

my problem started when i have received my Matador its brand new i bought it in Sep-2013 it shoots pretty hot ! << 970fps with 52 shots gives me 34 spread >> .. i ask ED if i should lower the power immediately or later, he told me lower the power after using +2000 pellet and i did exaclty what he told me … i dont use my rifle often … so after i used +2000 i lower the power and i did chrony test i didn’t like it at all 🙂

220b to 110b (905fps) gave me 81 shots with 54 spread !

i ask ED , also Ernest both told me few things to do to fix this ! ED told me to check hammer etc .. and they are alright i’m pretty sure … Ernest advices me to lower the reg to 105b for more consis-shots … ( i really appreciate your help Ernest and ED )

so i open my reg.. clean it up add little grease and i add little mark and lower my reg 2x times lower and little up ( from what i read 1x time lower = 15b ) so i think my reg at ( 105b – 110b )

honestly when i test it .. results was pretty good ! 920 fps 20x shot spread 6-8 ! BUT !!! then when i fill it up 220b results wasn’t good at all

i dont have anything to explain ! power went down ( 880 fps – 63 shot spread +150 !!! ) lol

could someone help me figure out what is wrong with my matador 🙂 ( i know it can be fix )

Mughram, don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions on matador. I also believe it is fixable, especially having Ernest to back you up. Some good ideas have been provided. I think you don’t need to send the whole gun to Ernest. The regulator itself is sufficient.

Ernest, what a man to help out our Edgun fellow, hats off!

i’ll see what would happen if i polish all moving parts and maybe that would work for me 🙂

I think you have other issue by looking at your shot string, adjusting reg pressure will not help. Your regulator need to be cleaned and inspected of all orings and sealing surface for proper clearance/wear, proper valve stem clearance, and VS spring tension or rod binding. Any binding / fit / finish of all reg D/washer / piston wear and binding.

I would polish all moving parts in the reg.

they did respone to my question but i dont wanna ask more questions because they’re busy and they have done there part .. so i seek help from this respective forum if that’s not the right time or not the place to seek help then …. i’m sorry to ask 🙂
