Not that they are no good, just not enough for .257. It is still based on a stock condor valve and you can only get so much air thru that size stem.

My valve is a complete new valve with a larger stem and hole.

Do you have 24″ barrel. If not I have one I will make you a deal on.

I need to get some money saved up to get a valve for a 24″ .257 barrel, Doug!

Are you saying that Randy(R&L) valves are no good or Chinese? Maybe I misread what you stated? Haven’t had my first Coca-Cola of the morning! 😯

Thanks, Rick

The spring retainer is not a restriction. The hole is larger then the valve opening at .250″ to .312″ for the retainer.

I run a extension that is angled at 5 degrees because I use 62 ci tanks. You have to get the larger tank away from the frame. The extension and tank are same as stock AF tank in length.

The hole in the extension is .406″. When I used a HP bottle the hole is only .354″ and doesn’t effect fps at all. The spring retainer on my larger valve has a .402″ hole in it and is a totally different setup. After getting one valve copied I will not post pics anymore of my .257/.308 valve. I actually went back and deleted all the pics I could find. I spent way to much time figuring out what works to have it copied.

Also I did some work for a company that distributes Humphrey products (Benjamin rogue valve) and often day dream of cheap big bore digital solenoid valve design plans. Have you considered an electronic valve design? Nothing’s faster, more contortable, and is a world apart in shot consistentsy coupled with some sensors and a small board

Very clever, make an extension piece that adds crazy length and volume restriction. Sign me up! Hey Doug, can you tell me, is it necessary for the valve return spring retainer to be so long on these valves. I’m an hvac guy and I know air velocity and volume as it pertains to my field, however, since trying to take up machining and pcp air gunning , I’ve opened a whole new world of enticing areas to explore. So far I’ve made my own qev single shot 50 cal, made a bunch of custom condor upgrades, and now I’m dissecting the valve world. It seems to me the flow on the hammer valve specifically as I see it on stock/extreme valve’s set up, is hampered greatly by the loss suffered through this long bushing that retains the valve spring. Doesn’t it make more sense to use a set screw through the valve body or a much shorter retainer. Hell maybe even a c clip (split ring) would work? I dunno

No not yet. He is having a hard time with his machinist. They were suppose to be done in February.

He apparently is a machinist and kept me informed on his progress. It looks to me like a good job of machining. I shot it a few times in the basement with the Talon standard valve & it worked ok. I need to do some shooting over a Chrony. I expect it will not be challenged much with my standard flow valve. You say your valve is available from Randy?

That is a Chinese copy of one of my valves. The extension has the gauge and fill nipple in it. They don’t have enough since to put it in the valve.

I just followed that link and am confused. I bought my extreme valve from Randy and it came with fill nipple and gauge, no extension necessary. What is the extension, any one know?

Thanks for advertising for the company that copied my valve.

I also ordered a .357 barrel with breech from Eldy. He says that a standard .22 high flow valve works. I would also like to get an extreme valve and hear some are cheaper ok ebay. R & L airguns sells them too. I eagerly await my texan but also like my condor to perform with bigbores.

Yeah machining the breech to .398″ makes the barrel to thin in my opinion. Barrel is only .020″ thick. Don’t know why you would machine to .398″. .425″-.428″ is ideal size to use a 013 or 111 o ring.

Since when did eldy learn to machine barrels???

I thought he was subbing all that out??

Besides. Good luck with that.

24″ .357 barrel from Eldy. Barrel is .595 and the breech is .398. He machined a new breech for it. I also purchased a 12″ .30 caliber barrel some time ago on the classifieds and he machined the breech section to fit the same breech. I only have a standard flow tank and am trying to determine whether to purchase a hi flow valve or go with an aftermarket valve. I am also looking at regulators.
