Felt Baffles
Does anyone know where if anywhere I can buy thick felt pcs? I saw a vid comparing different ldcs and what they were loaded with.

What do you use to stop the felt from fraying after cutting. For me the felt baffles are much quieter then curlers and foam.
Natural felt is best for sound reduction. That is felt made from wool and undyed. Some felts are synthetic, or a mixture of synthetic and wool and don’t perform as well.

That might be good for a larger dia shroud or ldc.
I used less than 25 felt washers in stacks of 5 with the rubber washers spacing the stacks. It works very well. I think it would be a good replacement for the old fended washer and o ring stack in the Talon SS prior to Sound Loc.
I wonder if the pads used to protect hardwood floors from scooting chairs would work?……………. They come in various sizes and full sheets and should be pretty tough.
The felt washers I ordered are 3/4 od 1/4 id and 1/4 thick . I also ordered some rubber washers for spacers.
Home Depot in the plumbing, faucet repair, has felt washers (bonnet washers if I remember, by Danco). May be the right size.
Thanks you’re right on the money. They have washers and flat stock.
Try McMasterCarr, you may have to cut the discs from sheet goods, but a cutter ic easy to make from a piece of tube or pipe.

If you’re using it as a wrap I would say try a little glue on the cut edge. They make fabric stuff to stop fraying but I really think it’s just a Krazy type glue.
