Q:

Filling off a Scuba

How many condor fills do you typically get off a 3000psi 80cuft Scuba tank? Lets say I am filling the condor to 2600Psi?

I might have found a good deal on two 80cuft scuba tanks. I also can get them filled for free at my fire dept.

Your welcome Maw. Hey Mike if you get two tanks, be sure to get a cascade set up to save even more air.

I used the pump for a month! I am a large guy so pumping is no problem, the problem is that the pump has to cool. If I could pump 100 times witjhout a worry of burning out my pump I probably never would have bought the scuba tank. It is SOOOOOOOO nice to take your tank off attach to the adapter and open the valve. screw the tank back on and away you go! It takes longer to type or read this than it takes to fill the tank. Isn’t that what its about SHOOTING

Thanks, for the thread SavageSam!

forget the pump…..

if anything get both tanks and never look back 🙂

I’m not stuck on the 2600psi fills. I just picked that as a benchmark. Hydro’s at my local dive shop are $40 and the tanks I found were hydro’d last year. I will still get the tanks certified when needed to be safe. I do have my diving license too so its never a problem to get the tanks filled. I just found the fire dept. to be much closer to me.

I am trying to decide if I should just buy the pump and use that or get two scuba tanks and use those.

Thanks for all the info.

If you tune your gun for 2,000psi down to say 1,000psi those 3k tanks will provide a pile of fills!

if you stuck on 2600psi fills perhaps a 4500 CF is what you need.
or even a 100cf 3300psi tank….

Dive shops make us follow the rules, so the tanks have to be recertified every 5 years. High press can be dangerous, that said, your lucky to have a place to fill them.
I bought mine from a local dive shop. $168.00 brand new.
When my tank gets a little low ,I hook up my pump and bring it up to 200 bar.
Boy , I would like to have one of those little compressors.
Once you get the AF tank pressured up, you’ll just be using the scuba for makeup air, and it will do a little better.

Thanks. That works excellent.

Hey Mike airhog has a filling calc. check it out. http://www.airhog.com/tank.htm
