Q:

finally became a talon owner !

i have been a lurker on this site for close on two years now. finally i got myself a talon ss with an 18 inch barrel,GTBJ shroud and wok butt. the cal is .177. the gun is shooting in the 975 fps range for 40 shots. from an initial fill of 2500 psi. the scope is a hawke 6-24 nite eye sr 12. no laser , got a harris bipod which shall do duty on the gun.
sorry to ask u guys things which have been probably discussed umpteen times but..(infernal word) what happens when u put a condor tank on tss and shoot with the stock hammer and mainspring ?
or should i look at getting a 24 inch barrel (for reasons of pellet availability i would prefer to stick to .177 cal) i have been told that the 24 incher would add around 100 fps to the pellet speed.
ur views on this are requested.

I dont send gun parts. I send decorative coat hooks and door handles…lol

If you want something let me know. I only have 1 wokgard 15 left.

Welcome to the TAG

I’m with 80 on this one….don’t waist your time and money on a condor valve if you plan on sticking with .177 ….if you have the skills do the port and polish on your stock valve that is the way to go…if you don’t feel comfortable doing it yourself many of us in here wod be happy to do it for ya…..Greg

You generally gain 10 fps per inch of barrel with HPA. So a 24″ barrel alone would get you around a 60 fps increase. Replacing just the tank will be futile as higher pressure (to keep a good shot count) will give you “valve lock” (that is your stock hammer weight will not be heavy enough to open the valve up. Even if you did get the condor hammer weight and bottle–and someone correct me if I’m wrong—wouldn’t that push even the heaviest .177’s supersonic. If so, it would be a gross waste of time.

Your best bet will be to remove your valve (there are stickies on how to here on the forum) port and polish it (stickies also available for that as well). Many here, including myself have done this and gained 50 to 80 fps increase. That would put your speeds near 1050.
