Finally got a chance to chrony my Edgun…
I went out to the range today and got a chance to use the chrony on my Edgun R3M .25 (the gun is still in factory configuration). Here are the results with JSB kings:

The shot string seems to have certain shots that jump around a bit by ~10fps. I think this is due to me placing the muzzle of the gun slightly off center of the chrony’s sensor. As far as adjusting the gun goes, can anyone tell me what the ideal fps is for maximum accuracy with my .25? And are the adjustments doable while I’m at the range (outdoors)? The range is 30 minutes away from me, so driving back and forth in between adjustments would be a huge pain. Thanks in advance!

I’ll ask you guys about regulator orings… Shall I put a tiny bit of silicon grease on the orings inside regulator (small and big) or they should be dry / almost dry? Thanks!

I took my stock off today and noticed that my HST doesn’t seem to have a way of being adjusted. There isn’t a slot for a screwdriver or an allen wrench… Also, it doesn’t have the locking nut like the one in Ed’s “almost everything you wanted to know about the Edgun” youtube video. I’m a little confused…. Could somebody help me out?

My advice stands as is.
Old Goat is a seasoned perfectionist. I maintain that adjusting the HST for minor velocity corrections does not require any attention to the regulator or valve.
I suggest you adjust your fps to where you want it, then chrony a string to see how it performs. If the fps standard deviation is within 10 to 15 fps, then I, personally, would not recommend trying to do fine adjustments with the valve or regulator. Your results, accuracy and shot count, should not be affected in any noticeable way.
Here’s the thing….once you start “adjusting/fuxing” the valve, regulator, HST settings, you are trying to achieve a very delicate balance in play here. The less you tamper with it, the least likely you are to get into trouble.
Later, in a year or so, when you have more experience with the gun, and it’s parts, then stretch your legs and get into prying maximum performance, if that’s what you are into. If not, just leave it alone and shoot the damn thing. The Edgun will still outshoot you, no matter how good you are, or will get.
Always remember, this is a forum of “Tinkerers” who can’t leave their fat, sweaty fingers off anything they own. That includes guns, dogs, women, whisky bottles, and anything with more than one moving part.
Good luck, and try my advice first. You can always move up to where the others are if you are frustrated with the results.

No! You are adjusting a very small percentage of the current velocity. If you are dropping/raising more than 150 fps, then some minor adjustment might be in order to really fine tune things. Now, that’s my personal opinion and experience, other’s might not agree totally. However, your fps adjustment is really quite minor in nature, so don’t sweat the small stuff.
The Edgun reg and valve are quite forgiving of owner velocity adjustments, unless you want to go down to 12 fpe, or try to get max velocity and power, then you need to get sound advice from someone smarter than me. (That would be just about anyone on this forum)

If I adjust my HST screw to shoot a lower fps, will I have to mess with the regulator to get the max HST at the lowest regulator setting?
Dear Asthmatic,
I found the ideal fps for my .25 Edgun was in the 880 to 900 fps range. If you are not shooting extremely long distances, I’d personally use the 880 fps and get more shots.
Further, I also found this fps was effective in both the .25 Cricket and the Marauder. Little is to be gained by going over 900 fps. The air use efficiency drops per shot when you put more air pressure behind the pellet than it needs to obtain maximum efficiency. There’s a zone, just before going supersonic, that seems to suit pcp pellets of any caliber as regards accuracy and efficiency.

yes assemble with silicone greese.. It will prolong their life and help prevent cutting of the rubber when assembling.
