Finally shot my condor.
I’ve realized…
I need a yardstick and a chronograph.
this thing packs a punch.
its a god damned laser at 80 paces.
there are absolutely no varmints in this particular part of petersburg, NY.
The tiny little white square in the distance is a 5×5 target at 80 paces. I was hitting center mass without even trying.

Like RC said you need to keep your pellets sub sonic and then you will see or hear what that shroud really does.
With CP’s your are at 1200+fps. Go with Kodiaks or Eun Jins at 1050 and under and thank you for the great feedback on the shroud.

With a perfect setting, what you want to do is to push the heaviest accurate pellet you can, at just under the speed of sound.
That gets rid of your ballistic crack, gives you the most energy, and the flatest trajectory.
Going past the speed of sound seriously degrades accuracy.
Not much use for the 14.3’s in any rifle I own as a result.
In my 25 Condor, I push the Kings at 1050, where I live that is just below the speed of sound.
And of course that is where the chrony comes into play.

Talon Tunes. Tony’s stuff is superbly built, the fit is surgical and the looks are too.
The main reason I want a chronograph is because I want to know what settings will afford me the most power without any more sound than necessary.
At the max power settings the Condor is still quite loud, I’m guessing because the pellets are going supersonic (crossman premier domes, 14. something grains), but as you start coming down to subsonic speeds, the thing is exactly as quiet as I had hoped: simply the whack of the hammer and the smack on the target, the shot is lost amidst the breeze.
nice… yes a chrono does help alot wen tuning although it doesnt sound like u need to tune that bad… of what make is that silencer on your condor?? cool range you guys out there with ur own ranges are lucky i hav to drive to a range to shoot distance otherwise im limited to 35 yards max… and that is way to close..

Speaking of chronographs reminds me of a well respected airgun writer, speaker and exhibitionist, name of Tom Gaylord who has trained his ear to accurately determine the velocity of pellets fired from AF rifles. I am not kidding, he can tell how fast a pellet travels just by hearing the report. I don’t know how he does it, with all the different shrouds and internal baffles available.
