Q:

First shots and impressions from the .25 ss

After reading some bad reviews about the trigger and ergonomics of this platform i was unsure about how it would feel and shoot. This morning i was able to sight it in and do a preliminary accuracy test of pellets i have on hand. First the trigger out of the box and the safety are pretty good on mine at least. As far as ergonomics i have my scope pretty low and i have to use a solid cheek weld to use it but i prefer a solid feel over feeling like i have to float over the gun. I dont mind using the tank for the cheek weld its not bad but i want to change out the pistol grip for a more target style for better consistency and trigger control. Accuracy was good with most pellets the best was H&N baracuda weighing 31.02 and of course JSB Kings being a very close second. 40 yds. ctc was .468 with the baracuda and i expect that to tighten as the gun breaks in and i play with the power setting for the sweet spot. It absolutely hates the eun jin 35 gr. and also the H&N field target at 19 gr. it shot everything else good and consistent. Chrono is at work so no idea the speed but its on setting 6. I own an mrod .25 as well and comparing the noise signature between the two the condor ss wins. My mrod is tuned to shoot kings at 855 so its not powered way up and it still is louder and just a different tone also. The mrod still has a bang if you will but very low and the condor is more of a hiss with no bang. At this point i am very happy with the condor ss it is lighter, smaller, accurate and quieter than my .25 mrod

Wow, very good, I like the Kodiacs best, killing power, but they were out last time, so I have 12 tins of kings to shoot up now, they may shoot better, but I do have to slow them down, and I only have 53 yards to shoot them at the time.

Thanks for that video. These air rifles are amazing.

i cant find anything to whine about . i still put a shroud on mine though . in my opinion it still not backyard friendly. hitting a soda can a 100 yrds wasnt too hard, took me three shots. see my youtube video. but man the power and force when it hit a squirrel wow.

I shoot 40 yds for initial testing to get on paper with a new gun or scope then i move out to 75 yds for my air guns and 300 for my pb. I did my final testing between the jsb kings the baracudas and the kodiak match at 75 yds. The jsb kings lost at 75 yds and the kodiaks won giving me a .400 ctc group at 75 yds. If i lowered my velocity to about 860 im sure the jsb kings would have done better but i want my condor shooting the heavies as fast as accuracy allows. That is the sole reason for buying a second .25 and why i picked the condor. I have a .25 mrod for shooting kings slower

It is not unusual for the Bara” to out shoot the kings at such short ranges. But the Kings really come into their own at 60 to 100 yards. 40 Yds. is short range for a .25! 😉 😈

The first time i shot it setup right out of the box i went from 3k to 2k in 32 shots i did not shoot that thru a chrono that was just sighting in and doing accuracy tests. When i put it thru the chrono it started at 3k and gave me a shot string with 30 es with 24 shots. That wast at 965 fps avg. with baracudas @ 31.02 gr.

Hello, do you have a string shot? from 3000 psi to 1800???
Anybody have it?
How many shots per charge?
thanks

I thought it would be also. I dont know if i got lucky or the stars aligned perfectly but it is quieter. My mrod is depinged. The noise level for the shooter is about the same between the two but if you removed the hammer noise from the condor it would be quiter to the shooter. I have heard reports from people who say the condor ss sounds like a 22lr and i cant see that unless something is installed wrong or the smaller caliber baffle system is not as effective. My condor wins hands down and if i lowered the power to the same level as my mrod it would or should be even quieter.

thats interesting i thought an mrod would be the more quiet of the two.
