First test of Air Hog Regulated Carbon Fiber Tank on Air Hog
I finally got the time to test the Airhog Regulated Carbon Fiber Tank on my Air Hog prepped Air Force Condor(.22) with 24″ barrel. I filled the tank to 4,000psi and was using the 18gr. JSB Exacts. The string is as follows:

If I did the math right, that’s 50 shots with a spread of 18.4fps!!!!!!! 🙂 I’ll be filling it back up to 4500 psi in the next day or so to test it again. I am inclined to think that as the regulator settles in and with a 4500psi fill, things should get even better in terms of shot count and the extreme spread!!! 🙂

I gotta figure out which chrony to upgrade to next. I know other ones like from Competition Electronics are known to be not light sensitive like the Shooting Chrony’s.
Anyhoo, what did you have the power wheel set at? I had mine at 3 and its been suggested that I should turn it down a little for better shot string performance.

PW was set at 3/3….Now I am thinking about lowering it to see what
happens but IIRC the lower I go the less consistancy I get….

That is a Knock off mine. A guy was selling them awhile back but folks let him know it was not appreciated.
I guess he found a buyer in AirHog. 🙄

debacle (screw up).
This sun was coming up and the wind was light…As the sun rose
the Chrony started to throw errors due to too much light, and then
after the first 32 shot run the wind picked up to about 15mph left
to right….SO! The results are somewhat confusing but here goes….
I got around 52 full power shots with a 4,600psi fill…SD was not
what I would like to see but it didn’t translate to the target quite
as bad as I thought it might….I think I might try to add some PW
to try to reduce the SD.
Just a note…My 87cu ft tank and the CF tank were at 4,600psi
before refilling the CF tank…On the refill I got 4,100psi in the
CF but had to fill the hoses also.

No offensse that tank looks huge… How about a pic or two attatched to the gun. How does it shoulder?

Thanks Justin and no worries, it is huge or at least fat! It shoulders fine for me, but I bought this tank set up mainly for benchrest use in 50yard competition and hunting/pesting from a rest. There are a few buttplates/hooks that can be attached to it as Jeff pointed out below.

Best I understand these regs are set at approx 2,200psi output…

I don’t know other than that I can fill to 4500psi which I need to do this week and see where it falls off reg. Basically I was looking for super consistent shots, i.e. as much under 30fps as possible for the spread with a minimum of 25 shots and hopefully over 50 in a perfect world!

Here is a 4,100psi fill with 11 shots on the end that the chrony
wouldn’t pick up due to the clouds….Total shots were 42….
AAAAARGRGGRRJHHHHH!!!!!!
I tried PW 0 but FPS was all over the place. FPS was running from 950 to 1000….
PW on 1/1 for this string. Ending psi was 2,500…SD FPS is not bad but, it is not 4
I’ll try to get a full stinking run this afternoon…..
I also lubed my hammer so that may
tighten things up on the next run….
