first test of jsb jumbo monster 25.4 gr pellets
I shot five, five shot groups @ 30 yards off bags with my 24″ condor. The first five group of 25 was with the monsters and the second 5 shot group was with the exact 18.1. It was a little windy out.
Both five shot groups were with a 2800 fill (give or take 100 psi) and a 2200 end pressure.
At the end of the second round of 25 I shot two 13.43 gr. jumbo RS and they both went supersonic, but were pretty accurate (I only shot two with these as the wife and kids got home and the range went cold {I don’t have a shroud…}). I will do some more tests on these in the future, but I’d imagine they would destabilize at distances greater than 30 yards (keep in mind they did great in my BSA Scorpion where they remained subsonic).
These monsters were only slightly less accurate than the 18.1, but with considerably more energy for a minimal loss in accuracy. I think if I run a bunch more through my barrel the groups will tighten up, but so far they look pretty good. Next time I want to do some crony numbers with all these pellets.

Interesting. I ordered 5 tins. I only checked two of them. Let me see what the others look like.
Never lubed them. Mine weren’t that dirty, and my skirts seemed fine. I ordered five more tins. I will check them soon to see how they compare.
Got these in and man they are dirty. Also a lot of deformed skirts. Not what I would have expected from a “Match” pellet. The JSB 18.1’s come way cleaner than these. Grit did you clean or lube the pellets you tested? I threw them in with some Krytech stuff and that cleaned them up a bit. Man do they hit hard.

Lots of guys like to tinker around and such by themselves, some like to send their rifles to pros like Tony (click big banner at top that says TalonTunes…) You will get all kinds of opinions, but I think the first thing is to get a crony if you don’t already have one and see what kind of numbers you are getting and go from there.
That thing sounds like its shooting Aces already. Did you mean JSB Exacts or Beeman Kodiaks?
I just purchased some of those monsters last week they seem to be pretty accurate,hit very hard..I have not went into the detail you have ,ones i have shot hit real close to each other, im shooting at a 30-40 yard target,I like to shoot longer distances with my condor ,thus the reason i purchased the monsters,I have shot squirels over 125 yards with the beeman exacts extra heavy pellets,lucky shot i guess normally i try around 100.this fall i was shooting wlanuts off one of several of the trees in my backyard/woods in the 50-80yrd range with boredome.nice info by the way,im thinking of having my condor tuned and some mods added,what would you guys reccomend i do?
I only shot them once. If I remember correctly, they are not as tight as the E.J’s. They seemed to fit just right.

the 28 grain eu jins dont do well for me until you get the velocity up to the 950 range to 1000, the 32 grain eugins are one hole at 25y slow or at 1000 for my condor. Usually get one hole with flyers making it 1/4”.
Yeah the first pellets I tried where the 18.1 JSB’s. And they are nice! I have some 28gr EunJins but I’ve only shot a few of those so far. We will see how these Monsters do. I also ordered some the H&N 21 grainers. They look like they should be good.
mine was .095 from factory with pw on 6 . i think they set the condor up for the 18 to 21 grain pellets from factory. if i would of had some of these when i bought the condor i probably would not of touched mine either.

My TH is around .100 and my power wheel is on 3. This was the factory setting on this rifle as I never felt the need to mess with it. It was very accurate out of the box. I will be running some crony numbers soon.

JSBs have always been known for flimsy skirts, I think that’s a big contributor to their accuracy… they expand against the bore and rifling. The downside is that every tin has a few “pancakes”. If they’re not completely flattened out and you want to save them, then you can “renew” them with the point of a two-penny nail. Doesn’t need to be exact, just flair the skirt enough so that it compresses a bit when you load it into the breech.
As far as “dirty” goes, well, it’s lead afterall…
