First time shooting 308 Texan

First of all got out there only to realize my big air tank was empty. After I quit cussing got out my small tank and started sighting in. I was going to shoot three bullets I had cast but only really got thorough with the 49 gr from accurate molds. Super light and wanted to see if they could be accurate. Tweeked with the settings a bit and got them up to 1251 fps with next shot dropping to 1230 ish so I tuned a bit more to get three good shots closer together around 1240 fps. I am not a target shooter and was ok with the 2″ groups of three at 50 yards but they opened up too much at 100 yards. I’ll keep messing with them to see if I slow them down a bit more maybe they will stay stable. We’ll see. By now I can no longer fill to 3000 psi so I shot some 79 gr boattails from accurate molds. Only messed with adjustments a bit cause I was running out of air. They were doing around 1060 fps and at 50 yards doing under 2″ groups of three. I’ll bet they will go faster, I’ll tune more next time. Again I’ll say I am not a target shooter. I sight in a gun, see where it seems best and what I can get it to shoot best then it’s only hunting unless I’m changing scope or ammo or something so many of you could surely do better on paper. I only had a bit of air left to shoot at some old paint cans left in the desert at 100 yards but I think those will hold better groups at distance. Did not have the air to even shoot any of the 113 gr from the lee mold so that will be next time. Just thought I’d put this out there so others can compare or see someone else’s results. Not a thorough outing but that’s what I got. If any one is wondering about the leede on theirs the answer is yes they are all like that. Help D! over all didn’t seem to be an issue but seating could have been better. Jeff
