Five years from today, what kind of bullpups shall we see?
Just wondering if the bullpup market may have plateaued by then, perhaps… what do you guys see out far in the future?
The reason I asked is that.. at the rate I am dropping coins with my old fashioned piggy bank, it will take at least five more years to reach within a realistic accumulation of worldly treasures… unless Santa drops by and hand me something because I have always been a good kid. 🙂

The Colibri has approached the most desirable bullpup format. I believe Ed is also developing his semi auto version of the Matador Edgun. Who knows, the Chinese can come up with their version too.
As for me, no electronics, no batteries. Just plain simple and elegant mechanical perfection. Something I can use my diy tools at home to fix it if something goes wrong. That is the essence of pure airgunning. I hate the idea of installing a software for my airgun to work… nor buy a battery.
I am just a simple man.
Features I would want:
Switch – Semiauto/Manual Single shot
Light – under 5 lbs
Regulated –
Pressure fill 200bar or below
Magazine/Single loading tray
So what will the price be for the manual version? There was a site offering the pre-release semi auto for $1,599. It went up since though so I’m not sure if they are taking pre-orders anymore. Also seems like WWAG took the Colibri off their site? Should that be a sign since there’s been a banner to pre-order them on the YF for as long as I can recall.
We were allowing people to pre order (no down payment) but with all the set backs and a pre order list approaching 200 orders we took it down till Kalibrigun works out the bugs (imagine having that many people calling every time they pushed the date back). I’m not sure of the pricing for the manual version as we decided to not import that version and just wait for the semi.

I also sent an email to Edward. ..asking hin whether he can produce a regulator that working with 300 bar down to 100 bar… I knew Edgun air reservoirs are tested and working with 300 bar…but I wanted also about the regulator? ??
Then Edward said..yes ..my regulators are working with 300 bar but I don’t like the air consumption way at that pressure. …
I prefer Edward himself reply and bring more answer to you guys…

Because my long version Edgun gives me about 100 powerful hunting shots …220 – 100 bar….and I was or still thinking about this..if Ed can make the perfect regular just how our current Edgun regulators are working properly with 200 – 100 bar …the new one work properly as well. ..and I m thinking of how many powerful hunting shots will I/we get?????????
I think for nextt 5 years we will have our Edguns with new regulators that able to give us not less than 150 powerful shots for long version …. 120 shots for STD and 100 shots for the short one….
Then the semi – auto also the next generation I think. …

Interesting ideas. So these tapes are dated 2012. Did he abandoned the ideas or is still in progress?

there are already electronic pups out there, not commercially mass produced models but they are out there.
electronics are proven to be very buggy, even in the world of paintball and airsoft the electronics often foul out and have issues.
there is no compromise to a good mechanical linkage setup,
say your in the feild, and bam starts raining, if the electronics get wet for the actuator and stop working your SOL.

I think this is the next evolution. If you’re clever, you can put the trigger on a rail to set perfect LOP. I actually sent Daystate an email a few years ago asking if they could make a bullpup w/ their electronic trigger mechanism. They replied they didn’t have plans for any bullpup designs. I guess their customers are happy with 60″ long, 15lb rifles. :biggrinn:
of course the next step is the iBullpup, with integrated 4G LTE connectivity for Apple Pay topped off with a trackingpoint scope.

i do agree with your comment,,, you are correct,,, for the semi-auto ,,i also don’t prefer holding batteries and electronic parts,,,this will be a tough part in your hand,,,because air gun is a simple rifle ,,,if you bring all of these to her,,then it will be a heavy and complicated stuff or a mystery thing,,,, our Benji, Edgun, Cricket ,,,,etc all are very simple and nice art of air gun design ,,,simple when some thing wrong happened ,,,we could/can fix by ourselves ,,, but a computerized air gun like daystate or Evanex i am afraid to buy them,,, since for a simple o-ring i have to buy from outside ,,,
regarding the working air pressure ,,,i don’t prefer even 220 bar,,, i prefer 300 bar or at least not less than 250 bar,,, why??? because semi-auto is not like single or magazine,,,
single shot or magazine needs some time until you reach end of the pressure ,,,but such Edgun breech semi-auto can fire 100 pellets within 3-5 minutes ,,,so you will end up with air pressure within some heart beats,,, i don’t like to spend all my times with refilling my air gun ,,,especially if i/you have/has hand pumps ,,,, :biggrinn:
i need to refill my air gun all the day and having a 3- 5 mnts to shot with 200 or 220 bar working pressure..,,, ,,, each refill needs 14-20 minutes till can be filled,,, but if the rifle has 300 bar ,,,, at least you will have about 40 – 50 more shots than comparing to 220 bar ….
