frame endcap question
With an SS rifle and 12″ barrel, is the ID of the hole in the endcap the same for both .177 and .22 or do they each need their own endcap?

It would appear that you have a standard Talon, as opposed to a TalonSS which has a longer frame.
Oh. I thought it was the Condor that had the longer frame. Bloody hell, four inches longer? I like the sound of that.

6″? My rifle has an 18″ barrel and sticks out 4″, so a 12″ barrel would be 2″ inside?
Anyway, that wasn’t the point. As it’s designed the end-cap doesn’t touch the barrel…is this a deliberate design intended to not negatively affect the accuracy or a legacy of the 12-incher needing the space for it’s shroud?
With a 12″ barrel, the end of the barrel is almost 6 inches behind the endcap inside the frame. With an 18″ or 24″ barrel, you have to remove the endcap altogether, as the barrel protrudes from the end of the frame, so there is no way the endcap will touch any of these barrels.
I’ve been told by somebody who knows his stuff that the end-cap should not be in contact with the barrel, as it would negatively affect the accuracy of the rifle. Is this true? Seems to me it would just be a kind of third bush. 😕

I beleive the FACTORY af endcap is the same for all three ss calibers.
No need to have a “matched” endcap.
The info from Riff above pertains to custom endcaps which would be more effecient, being sized specifically to the bore dia.
Yeah, I think I am going to do the whole spectrum, .177, .22 and .25.
Did I read somewhere you may be going .25 with one of your guns?
About what I figured. Got another .22 gun coming and may consider trying to swap somebody a 12″ .22 barrel for a 12″ .177 barrel and was wandering if endcaps would have to be included in the swap. Thanks Patrickstam.
This was recently discussed in the “Shrouds and Moderators” forum:
For .20 caliber, I used .242″
For .22 caliber, I used .266″
For .25 caliber, I used .300″ ish.
As long as you line it up with the barrel right, you wont have clipping.
So I guess for .177 it would be about .181 – .182

TSS and Condor share the same frame length, the condor just has a slightly (1″) longer sight rail/handle.
