frame extender shroud??????
just wondered if anyone had tried one of these. the concept seems sound and the price is a real bargain. i am guessing you could easily put various kinds of baffels in one also http://www.frameextender.com/8401.html

It works “alright” in a stock talon or TSS but there just isn’t enough volume in it to make it quieter for a Condor.
Now there’s some sound advice. 😎
Many frustrations and hard learned lessons come from trying to save money on critical equipment. Buy the good one first and save money by not purchasing the same item again to get what you were looking for in the first place.
We get stuck on the idea that a “BB” gun shouldn’t cost so much. Conquer that one and be happier with your more expensive equipment that performs well and is backed up by good people who will take care of the irritating problems that sometimes rear their ugly heads with any mechanical device.

I have one right now. It takes the crack out of the shot, and makes it possible to shoot in a nieghborhood amongst the sounds of industry. I’ve shot both hp air and CO2, and the sound is only noticibly loud in the immediate vicinity. From 50 yards away it sounds like a distant plastic trash bin being closed.
In a regular Talon, there is not much length to hold the tube before the first bushing. There is also a little slop. I had to greatly reduce the length to ensure that there would be no clipping.
The more expensive silencers will decrease your return on the asset. There comes a point where the talon surpases an ar-15, silencer, and tax stamp in price.
My first shroud was just a frame extender that I made and I just reused my SS end cap and it was better but still TOO loud to shoot in the basement of my house so that’s when I made my LDC and I’ve never looked back…out in the open a good ldc is silent, I’m running 950fps avg and I can shoot a pigeon in the back yard with the neighbors outside and all they hat is the thwak of the pellet hitting … 😈 …Greg
thats what i have, it does work but it is not silent. i have mine on a condor, the shroud goes in all the way to the first bushing. on a condor it works probably about the same as a talon ss end cap. i tried springs and washers but had some clipping, and i could not tell a difference in sound, so i abandoned that for the time being.
if you live in a normal neighborhood with neighbors just on the other side of the fence it probably will not be quiet enough, unless you add some sort of additional baffles.
i live in a rural area with my closest neighbor over a 100 yards away, it works enough for me until i can get one of the better ones from one of the fine craftsmen on this forum.

Those extenders may work well with either .177 or .22 caliber with low velocity, but if you crank up the velocity higher to handle larger pellets, it maybe louder than other shroud makers base on the size of those extenders comparing with TT shroud for good example.
But, the price is good there, can’t beat it 😆 😆 😆

all those things are is a hollow “bloop” tube with nothing inside, so when you think about it the price is a bit high for just cutting a tube, putting an end cap on it snd ratle canning a coat of paint 😉
