Frame extendor fpe? Heres the answer!

For those that have seen my video where i was testing condor shrouds you know i blew a bills frame extandor right off my condor. No fault to the shroud design, i simple exceeded its capabilities. Now i had a few questions about how many foot pounds of energy it produced so heres the math.

Bills frame extandor = 7 oz
1 oz = 437.5 gr x 7= 3062 gr
3062 gr x 944 fps x 944 fps = 2728658432/450240= 6060 fpe!

If anybody comes up with something different let me know. But thats what i came up with. That is retarded and a huge eye opener if its anywhere close to correct.

Good point! didn’t think about the round hitting first, everything happened so fast. Now I have to dry fire and blow the shroud off again so I can properly calculate the fpe of a shroud. Not really gunna do it again. Was funny but not doing it again. Thanks for the input though.

Pretty sure it records the pellet before the shroud. At 6000fpe it would have bent the shroud. Did that once and found my shroud about 80m away. It looks mad tho. Its like being shot with 1.50 cal haha

Ok, just found the video. Wow. That had to be a surprise!

I’d guess the chrony measured the pellet that passed through the shroud in advance of the shroud launching.

6000 foot pounds would have blown a hole through the backstop and probably the structures behind. A 300 win mag is only 3500 foot pounds…

I have not seen the video, but this calculation says that the frame extender exited the front of the rifle at 944 fps.

Really? I need to see this video…
