Free CR2032 battery sources

Here are a few sources for those button batteries for your laser sights, etc. I salvage them from old computer circuit boards, and even some printers!
The PC example is pretty typical, but the battery may be anywhere on the board.
The small board is from an old HP printer/fax/copier and was in the upper left corner of the printer. The printer had expired, so I parted it out to fix another one, and I found this battery on the USB interface board for it.
Surprisingly, these batteries will stay good for years in an unused PC. Some of the ones I recovered had plenty of useful power left after having been in PCs that had not been used/powered on for 2 years!

I also included photos of how I store the batteries in old pill containers. I take the extra step of putting a piece of paper between each one and I put paper or cotton on top to keep them from moving and possibly shorting each other out by contacting the edge and center surfaces at the same time. (You don’t have to use heart shaped paper 😳 😆 …. it was all that I had available from my wife’s paper punches she uses for her scrap booking hobby. 😆 )
