Q:

Full bore tricked out, inside and out, Marauder

Well here it is. First the details on the inside:

15.5″ accurized barrel
Custom built baffle pack
Titanium air tube
Custom valve
Aluminum clad polyurethane transfer tube
Regulated air supply with engineered air chamber
Low volume air gauge block and improved ,with machined nylon bezel
Machined aluminum “muzzle brake”

Adjustable grip position and LOP
Collapsed length: 32.75″
Weight: 6.2 pounds
Weight with optional tube stock: 5.75 pounds

Now for a few pics:

That titanium air tube is incredibly light!

“Nuttsac” carbine length:

Light weight and well balanced:

Relocated, larger, shrouded pressure gauge:

Just a handful of rifle:

Now for chrony and performance results from the builder:

My work with your rifle is done. I’ve put probably 600 rounds through it, and I am happy with the outcome! The best tuning that I could find was with the stock hammer spring all the way weak, and the hammer stroke turned in 6 turns. The transfer port restrictor is wide open. Using Crosman CP brown box ammo the gun is clocking 815fps for just over 30 shots. It is running about 810 at shot 30 and by shot 32 it usually gets down to 795 or so. Three honest magazines at 815 fps from a carbine!!! If this were a full size air tube it would be getting 50 shots. That is from an honest 3000psi fill, not an overfill.

The accuracy is also good. With a dirty barrel, a 4X bugbuster scope, a variable cross wind and a makeshift rest, the CPs were shooting penny sized groups at 20 yards. That’s without culling ammo or anything! With a better scope, clean barrel and the usual attention, I’d be real surprised if you don’t get below dime size at 20 yards. I think one ragged hole is very possible.

The shot fps consistency is excellent. The total spread in the 30 regulated shots is from 820 to 812. Less than 1% deviation! “

Like the man said, I don’t think a guy can ask more from a short barrel carbine at 33″, and 5 1/2 lbs, balanced to perfection. It’s not a 100 yard rifle, nor is it set up for heavy pellets. The Vincent regulator is set at 1800 psi. This will bitch slap anything I ever shoot at here in the mountains. Due to the trees and hills, a 50 yard shot is considered long distance. Most stuff crops up at about 75 to 100 feet, usually less.

I’ll put a black nylon sling on it and a good scope.

It’s a bit noisier than the stock Marauder, but then what isn’t? It’s still quiet enough to be neighbor friendly and that’s all I need for my evil deeds. Since it’s custom everything, he’s sending me spare parts on all wearable items. I should be set for life.

Now, if I could only SEE!!!

I have good hopes. The doc said we caught the right eye in time and it should come back near 100%, but it will be next winter at least.

The builder isn’t making any more rifles. He had to sell his equipment and is going to change trades and start a new life elsewhere. Good luck to him. He’s a perfectionist and that plays well in any profession.

Kindly ‘Ol Uncle Hoot 😯

PS: Of course I’d sell it. EDIT: $3612.00 shipped. Next PM gets it. Too many offers came in at once and crashed the server. Try again…operators are standing by!

I was going to eat lunch, but I’m not hungry now that I’ve been force-fed a punchline.

Thanks Hoot!

quote Hoot:

Dammit! Are you morons blind too, as well as brain dead?

I said: ” When I opened the box I shouted ‘ WOW, I can’t believe my EYE!!!” Eye! As in singular noun.

Get it? “Eye!” One eye!!!! Not eyes….just ‘eye…” Single orb!!!

You guys got two eyes and can’t believe your eyes……

I’ve got one eye and can’t believe my ‘Eye”….

It’s funny! There’s supposed to be comments….kind words….perhaps even donations!

You know….’can’t believe my eye!’ Hahaha….. Ahhhh shit, never mind. Like trying to train a friggin’ band of monkies to play bingo.

Tossing pearls before the swine…that’s all I’m doing…wasting my damn pearls of jocular wit and wisdom on a band of in-bred monkies.

A word of advice here….Quit breeding outside your species! That especially goes for that closet queen Pablouk.

Kindly, patient, saintly, ‘Ol Uncle Hoot 😯

Hoot, I think only one person meantioned “EYES”.
Therefore your use of the word moron in the plural sense is just as
moronic as the “EYES” in which you so adimately abhore…. 😉

And just to ease your mind. I was vasectomized <— Not actually a
word, years ago…

THAT is a “M” Rod??? WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😯 😯 😯

quote 80 GRIT:

Yes, he sure does some great work. We corresponded for many weeks and he helped me to achieve a high of 38 fpe out of my stock MROD (.22). If it weren’t for his misfortunes I would have been the proud owner of number 2. I hope someday he comes back around as he most certainly knows his stuff, and the Airgun community will benefit to have him!

I have to admit its a great gun. When I opened the box, I shouted “Wow!!! I can’t believe my eye!”

Kindly ‘Ol Uncle Hoot 😯

Just send it to me while you can see well enough to write my address on
the box….

I should be set for life.

I love the subtle irony in that statement… Hoot, you’re a, errr…. Hoot. 🙂

Very nice Hoot! It is going to be torture for you to wait, but alas Good things come to those who…Next Winter is better than “never again” so get busy with your rehab. Remember, masturbation will make you go blind so quit it, 😆

That is one nice Marauder Hoot. Next time you need to have some lead run through it I will show up at your place and take care of it for no charge.

And I am very sorry to hear about your eyes. And I sure hope you finished that pier, at least as far as being able to see if you are finished. I know, bad joke. 🙂

Carl

So, you’re “the guy” who got this rifle. I saw it on the Yellow and emailed the maker, asking who it was for. He refused to tell me, but did say that the new owner was a “dried up stinky butt licker”.

I am very sorry to hear about that eye, hoot. Here’s hoping the docs have erred on the side of caution with their prognosis. Take your multivitamin and eat your vegetables.

quote WalkonKing:

Nice rifle BTW it is far to good for you.

I fully agree. In fact, its an abomination against god and man.

Fortunately, its fully correctable for a mere pitance of what the rifle is actually worth, and the world would rest easy.

Does NO ONE out there have a sense of justice?

Kindly “Ol Uncle Hoot 😯

1 minute to convert to a pistol?

Send it back and demand at least a 30 second version

Nice rifle BTW it is far to good for you.

Hoot: WoW that’s a nice MRod. Has the tatical look. If the neighbor sees ya, may get that visit from the Swat team with their REAL black rifles.

Get well soon and do some paper punching/hunting/plinking with that custom MR.od.

Titanium Hmmmmmmmmmmm I want a titanium or magnesium frame for my condor……!
