Q:

Fun Skeet Shoot

I have an invitation to a all day Fun Skeet shoot, everything is provided. Ammo, guns, clay pigeons, snacks, lunch, Training Instructors and transportation(about 1hour each way). This event is on Saturday, the 24 of July.

The catch is I never had any interest in shotguns/Skeet shooting and don’t know anyone at the Club. This is an NRA/Veterans sanctioned Fun Shoot.

The only shotgun I ever owned was a 12ga bolt action, clip feed, Mossburg Goosegun. the third time I shot the gun, the bolt came out of the gun. Sold it. Probably shot less than 20 rounds of shotgun shells.

What do you think? Should I go or not, to the Fun Shoot, if it was Air/powder guns I’d be there no second thought @ All?

Fuck it was hot wasn’t it!!!

Hell yes go, when you get the chance again, be careful you might just love it and start another addiction.

I am a rifle and pistol shooter and i love shooting clays.

Fun Skeet Shoot canceled due to 110 degree heat index for today.

So I went to the pickup point at 1/4 to 8 AM and waited? Taxi drove up said “‘no! not here for the the Skeet shoot?'” OK. Gentleman in a pickup, pulled up and parked. Still waiting?

Looked in the window and now was 8:00am, the guy in the truck pulled up to me and said “you waiting for the Skeet shoot ride”? Yes. “It’s been canceled due to 100 degrees with 110 heat index” see you in August @ Fun Skeet Shoot, hope it’s a cooler day, duh!”

Shoot for free! Why wouldn’t you go 😆

Go an have Fun!

I’ve shot trap competitively for a few years before finding out that my wallet wasn’t deep enough to keep up with the big boys. No regets not shooting. Made new friends from across the US and Canada. If a distant relative unknown to me leaves me millions, I’d go back to shooting in a heart beat. Oops——-sorry got side tracked reminiscing. 😳

Anyhows, back on track GO! try something different. Meet new people. Just go out there and have fun. However, Be warned—–you might like it and get bitten by the bug. 😀

Aloha,

Mark

Its a lot of fun… I love clay pigeon shooting, if it weren’t so expensive I’d do it every weekend.

Go, you’ll have fun 😉

I’d go. Just to have some fun and meet some people. Sounds to me like it will be a cool event. 🙂

I love skeet shooting. 🙂

I don’t do much. Rifles are much more fun to me, and they are completely different. Rifles take a lot of discipline with breathing and all that. Skeet shooting is a fun way to shoot without working so hard. I am not very good at it, I spend way too much time aiming, but I still enjoy it.

I’m like you, I have no interest in shooting skeet at events. But if I was invited to one, I’d go. Shooting in front of people bothers some. Luckily I never had much trouble with it. Unless you are awesome it isn’t about competing with others, just for fun. The trick is to know that no one else there really cares how you do. So if you go just enjoy yourself.

Plus, if they are paying for ammo, you can shoot some and find out if you enjoy it or not. That’ll save you the trouble down the line if some friends want to do it and you have to decide whether to spend a bunch of your own money to try it. 😉
