Q:

FX 16gr Smooth Twist .22 cal Pellets – Who knew?

Earlier today, I visited Airguns of Arizona in person and I was like a kid in a candy store. I ended up picking up a tin of rather exotic (and expensive) FX pellets to try out. A tin of 400 pellets set me back $24 which breaks down to .06 cents per pellet (about the same price as a .30 pellet). The tin is actually a black re seal-able black plastic box and the pellets come sealed in a plastic bag. Way cool!

I’ll be shooting these pellets out of a .22 DayState Airwolf Tactical which has a Lothar Walther barrel instead of a Smooth Twist barrel. I’m curious to see how they shoot. Cylindrical pellets have never worked as well as diabolo pellet from my experience so stay tuned for the actual results.

Anyway, here is a pic of the pellets and box:

Those look just like the old logun penetrators. They where a very accurate pellet.

JSB monsters for sure

Look like JSB jumbo monsters to me.

I don’t know for sure, but these look to be Defiant brand pellets, but their weight is between anything I have seen so far. Very likely they are made by JSB.

I don’t know for sure, but these are probably JSB Exact Monsters.

I was just thinking about AoA today. How often do they hire? I think it would be a killer job to work as a technician there after high school or during college. Also, $.06?! That’s crazy! I get upset paying or the jsb kings for my condor, but that’s pushing it. Beats the snot outa .22lr though. Maybe I’ll have to go to pheonix this summer and check it out.
