Q:

FX hate

I’m new to this forum, but not new to airguns. Got my first springer in 1979. I recently returned to the hobby and I am on my 3rd airgun (this time around), an FX Streamline in 22. It has been an awesome gun, although the first one delivered had a leak and AGD exchanged it. Anyway I was wondering what is the history on all this FX bashing? Just looking for the back story. I’m guessing it is the Impact, which I heard had a lot of problems. Not trying to stir up trouble just seeking info.

I am currently wanting to add a 25 to my collection and have been torn between a Wildcat MK2 and a Cricket. The people I ask on this forum all say Cricket. Other forums are more mixed between the two. I just can’t decide!

Thanks! This is a great forum!

I already installed Donny’s plate and a Sumo. It came with a cheap knockoff Atlas, 4 magazines, and an adapter for an LDC. I installed some UTG rings and an MTC Optisan Viper 3-12 x 44 scope. It is really cold here so I won’t be posting any groups for a while. :sadn:

Just watched FX Dreamliner modular system video. Lol I have been using a modular system for years on my Cothran 2240 bottle guns.

That’s what I have; it’s good-looking and crazy accurate. Post some groups with JSB Kings, when you get a chance.

Be aware, unless someone changed the plastic washer under the air gauge, it’ll start leaking. There are excellent repair videos by Ernest. After three years, I just replaced the plastic seal w/ a 2mm x 10mm 90 durometer O-ring. Other leaks are less common. They happen in all air guns, sooner or later.

You may want to add Donny’s cocking plate, if it’s not already on there; an easy modification that makes loading less awkward.

Just seen your post, Just seen people post about a cocking problem and air leaks on the wildcat II
And that is just looking at some of the post,
I got banned on AGN because I talked about my Mutants and Crickets a lot, Hell you can only talk about the guns you have!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway Michael banned me and called me a Mutant dealer,
I would feel more comfortable buying a FX gun knowing Earnest would fix it, BUT and I say BUT why buy a high dollar gun that needs fixed.
I will say IMO you can not go wrong with a Veteran Mutant or Cricket , With the FX line its a gamble, I might get a good one.
Mike

Glad I got both of mine tuned by Ernest

Ernest made it a lot better than it used to be. He is trying to educate owners to fix minor things themselves. He changed warranty program to be what it supposed to be.

But the fact remains that Ernest is swamped with warranty work. People are coming up with solutions to replace or improve FX factory regulators.

Quality control needs to improve.

Very well said, It kind of sums it up, The FX line is full of problems even the new wildcat II is having problems.
Mike

That is the reason they got Ernest…

Tomiboy
Tell us about your new gun, Buying a Cricket tuned by Earnest is like buying a Gold coin at face value , Know way in hell can you go wrong.
Mike

Yes!

good rifle! 25 cal?

Here is another crappy FX (Crown). I would call it constant disappointment instead of hate. 😉 The purpose of AGN is to spin the constant problems to sell FX. Any posts that deter from that purpose are deleted and the users banned.

Yep – it is an FX/AOA sponsored forum and extremely biased. My ID accuracy rating went down over there and I have not even logged on in six months until today. LOL

I was just reading through some posts and it has moderated a little more from the past IMO. As log as you are a sponsor – folks are allowed to post positively about your product. Positive posts about non-sponsored vendors or products have not been tolerated. 😛

The Yellow forum has a new format. I did read the new Hummingbird is delayed by Charlie Frear. It sounds like early 2019 now. LOL

iride,

What kind of problems with Wildcat 2? I hadn’t heard this. I thought the reason for the 2 was to reconcile the issues of the first gen WC?

Thanks!

HAHA I was hanging out at AGN! That forum has a lot of activity. I didn’t realize you would be banned just for giving an opinion about a brand. FX must be a sponsor of the forum.

I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another FX.
And this isn’t the forum to get any FX love. Best to hang out over at AGN.
