FX Impact or Edgun R3 30 Caliber
I was going to buy the Edgun R3 30 cal for long distance and bench shooting but I am having 2nd thoughts and might buy the FX Impact instead. If you had a choice which one would you choose?

Great!! Looking forward.. :biggrinn:
I have not but weather permitting I will shoot a couple of videos at 100 – 150 yards then upload them to you-tube early next week.
Love my edgun 25 … but other than the first video has any one else post a video of a 150 yard target grouping with their Edgun 30cal?
 :18:

Great news SECoda, now if ED would just add Pippo to his Christmas card list, that would be NEWS!!!!

On the AAA: The american air arms will use TJ barrels. There is an option to upgrade the barrels to shilen barrels if one so desires. I agree though, let Tom from AAA figure this stuff out first.
Thanks Brain. Your review and the above replies put me back on track. Plus dealing with Tony(toshik) has been great to this point. On top of that when I contacted Ernest he answered some questions and gave some sound advice. Talk about a nice guy.
Tony will be shipping the R3 .30 tomorrow if everything goes as planned. I picked up some 44 grain pellets and the adapter to connect a foster fitting. Hopefully the weather is decent when the R3 arrives, I cannot wait to shoot an Edgun for the 1st time.
Ed just shipped me a new upgraded valve assembly for my Standard R3 30 Gen 1 at no cost. My Gen 1 30 cal has been superb for over 2500 shots but it is nice to have an upgrade on the way. 😉
My shot count is basically the same with the Gen 1 at 875 fps.
Good choice Sam. I didn’t weigh in because I figured you knew where I stood. My Edgun 7.62 regulator settled in at 888 with a 28 shot count and about a 2 foot per second ES. The 2.0 EDgun R3 is a sweet rig. Congrats on a smart buy.

After reading the replies I purchased the R3 30 cal. I have to agree no way an ST barrel can compete with an rifled barrel after 100 yards.
As far as the Slayer no way am I buying a $1800 first run airgun from a new manufacturer. Its an American company and I wish them the best but I am not willing to go through growing pains at this time. I heard the Slayer will be using Korean barrels does anyone know if this is true?
the day a smooth twist barrel puts pellets on target at 200+ yards is the day you would even considder the FX over the Edgun..
It’s the proverbial no-brainer. The FX isn’t even available much less gone through the painful introduction process they all go through. Ask again in two years. :biggrinn:
Hey Oldgoat – good to hear from you!!!
Friends don’t let friends buy anything made by FX!
Well Sam,
for me it’s always been Edgun first then second place would be the hard choice. FX Impact model seems very interesting but has yet to prove its track record however FX has proven to be a top contender. I would even throw in the new guy on the block, American Air Arms and get this – American made. They look to be very promising. As of yesterday, Oct. 13th, they are taking orders:

Having choices can make a decision difficult but isn’t it nice that we do have that option. Enjoy your journey!
Cheers,
Mike
P.S. The one option that may steer my next decision with regards to buying my next bullpup would be the ideally placed mid caulking bolt/lever. This one feature alone has gotten my interest and wished EDgun would incorporate this feature on his future models. FX impact having this feature does turn my head but as to your post, as it stands today, I would purchase the EDgun .30. Just my 2cents.

i do agree with my big brother Tedd,
ok, let us ask a question from ourselves or let me ask you a question,,,,, why Sir Ville dose not have any of FX rifles ??? since he is a neighbor of FX factory and i believe the FX owner is a friend of him (if iam not mistaken) ,,, Ville never preferred FX rifles ,,,
i m not saying that FX rifles are bad,,, but they cannot be compared to Edguns ,,,especially the .30cal Edgun ….
some of my friends have FX,,,but all of them are not satisfied as much as they are with their Edguns ,,
for me ,,,i vote to Edgun .30cal ….
if you still take the both videos into consideration, then i think the Edgun is winner ,,,
