Think this is worth getting?
Seen nothing but great reviews on it so far.
Would this wear out like a metal spring over time and lose its power?
Will the fps spread be less between shots?
Seems like a great way to go.

It wont be hold sensy.
Gamo guns have been nothing but great for me. Hit bottles over 100 yards no problem.. use jsb pellets they work wonders in my elite.
so if it didn’t have recoil going both ways, wouldn’t it be as accurate as a pcp almost, or would it still be hold sensitive? My beeman has to be shot how it’s sighted in or it shoots off.
I have learned alot since then. The twang of that damn spring was
probably 3 times as loud as the report.
the gas piston upgrade is not done for fps increase but to counter the
problems associated with a spring….fatigue, failure, bidirectional
recoil.

It will still kill a wild pig, right? I had 2 Gamo’s at 1 point. 1 shot good and the other was a disaster!

I thought Gamo guns shot 40000 FPS so why the need for an upgrade? 😆
spring. The only problem I had was it was extremely loud. Even
more so than the twangy spring. I ended up getting rid of it for
that reason.

I was gonna get the Crosman Nitro. I have a Diana 48 already but knew I wanted to go big bore pcp eventually so I chose condor. But I think it would still be worth trying a gas springer.
Charlie Da Tuna would not like it because it would take away business from his buddy who does tunes now.
If you get the gun with a ram in it you no longer need their services in tuning.
I would get one in a heart beat. I use to hate it when a spring would break while out on a hunt. It is not like you can change a spring in the field. The ram you can leave cocked for a long time and it will not break over time by using heavy pellets.

No, don’t get the Air Venturi. I thought of getting that on a Gamo Whisper. Looked like there couldn’t be anything wrong with it. Turns out even “CharlieDaTuna” the maker of the GRT-III trigger discourages against it.
You know, I’m glad you asked this. I can’t answer you, but I’ve never heard anything but good. There has to be a tradeoff somewhere, and I’m curious as to where.
If I had to guess, rob will know. 🙂

my Whisper with the spring was very accurate. It was a 177 shooting
950 fps. I could not take the twang though and there were some other
small issues with it….quality was so so. I did not use the piston one
enough to know about accuracy because of the loud piston and the
barrel bore was not done correctly. 2 Gamo rifles with quality control
issues, no more for me. I did replace the horrible trigger with a GRT
or whatever it was and that made a big improvement.
