Gauge removal tool
Hi,
Is there any stock tool that is able to remove Cricket pressure gauge? I know Ernest created some tool but I need something that is easily accessible. Some kind of a wrench or something.

OH NO!!! Don’t do that. You’ll offend Sir Ville as he has several of those flags flying in front of his house.
Hey Jan,
The clear cover on the gauge can be removed.
The gauge one my Compact had a yellow hue and looked old compared to my Standard.
I used a jewelers screw driver with tape on near the tip to prevent it from denting the aluminum cover inside rim.
There is a lip that sticks out on the flat portions of the hex nut which I used to lift off/pop the cover.
The cover has a lip on the outer edge that attaches into the inside edge of the gauge.
I cleaned the inside and replaced it by pushing it back on with a snap, clear as new now.
If someone what to use the label you posted I wouldn’t remove the needle.
Instead I would cut the label right between one of the color bands and slip it on.
It would be cool if I could make the numbered label to install, to replace the gay flag colored ones I have !

Hey Greg, I had luck when I bought my cricket because one mount before were all crickets with colored manometer. I have thanks God numbered. I have no idea how to open it 🙁 I just find it on some Russian web site. They produced two kinds of colored manometer. First one early Russian made were also colored but max pressure in green color is 200bar and later czech production used green color up to 250bar. Only just for explanation.

Hi Jan,
Is there a way to open to replace the one on the inside of the gauge ?
Do you have the all numbered gauge label also ?

it will be an 1/8″x 27tpi NP or 1/8″ x 28″ BSP which are the two standard non tapered gas fitting threads used on gauges
Thanks!
What is the thread of the manometer? Does anubody know? M10x1 maybe?

Nice Larry good to know someone’s reading my posts !
Sometime you can remove it like Hoot said, after air dump. Use a piece of rubber from a bicycle tire tube. Place it on a table and with the gauge end on it push down on the AT and turn.
If not it’s not hard to make a socket or contact Ernest he my have some.

Try letting all the air out of the cylinder before you attempt to loosen it…that worked for me!
