Q:

Gen 4 Vulcan Question

I have a Gen 4 Vulcan with side lever.
Is it possible to double-load the Vulcan?
Or is it like a Taipan Veteran which you cant?

Two pellets — Vulcan fires, but the POI will drop quite a bit. Can be a few inches low at usual target range.
Three pellets — might not clear the barrel.

This was a lot more common with the bolt action. Partial cocking (which feeds a pellet) would be followed by a full bolt action. Was really bad if user was a weak, youngling trying to use the Vulcan.

The side lever is easy to fully cock the first time. The only time I get double feeds is if I de-cock at the end of a session, but forget to use the ROT slider. Gen 4 doesn’t have the ROT slide anyway. So, just discharge that last pellet at end of session rather than de-cocking. When I go after a target on the next session, the double load would result in a “How the HECK could I miss that bad?” event.

I think it is safer to fully clear the breach of the last pellet anyway. Leaving that last pellet in the barrel HAS resulted in me inadvertently launching a pellet when I thought the gun was clear (no magazine in gun, but pellet was already in barrel, leftover from a session weeks earlier.

Just discharge that last pellet!

Pull the trigger and push them both out. No big deal.

Yes..you can double load a Vulcan.

I know I’m showing my ignorance here but that begs the question, what happens if you do?
