Its slow leaking 7 days fro 250 bar to 50 bar.
Could it damage the cylinder if i put it under water, to see where it leaks?
Yes you can use plan water no soap, but if water get inside of the gauge it will take days to dry out but the valve end you can.
I’d first check if it leaks from the 3 indicator holes first.
Then I’d use a balloon and rubber band it tightly on on the muzzle to check if it’s leaking from the valve if it fills up.
To check if a leak is coming from the front AT gauge end.
Insert the fill probe only (without the hose connected) into the fill port, fill the probe end with water to check the small fill O-ring valve.
If it doesn’t leak from there then it’s the gauge O-ring that is leaking.
The 2nd indicator hole on the AT is the hardest to figure out, it could be any one of the 4 reg O-ring that is leaking.
Usually it’s the high pressure side large O-ring (the one closest to the front gauge) on the outside of the reg or the smallest one on the inside piston.
If it’s hard to stop the leak on the high pressure side you could use a harder O-ring then a A70 on both ends, like a A90 but don’t use them on the inside.
The smallest one on the inside of the reg piston which is the hardest one to change and is the one that’s works the hardest, most worned.
The second smallest one on the inside of the reg piston usually causes poor or inconstant crony results and can cause a leak also.
All in all when it come to the reg, if you going to go in there I’d change ALL 4.
Also note that you need to take very good measurements of the reg settings before going inside or get a reg tester …..
