Q:

German cricket

Hei guys, i am new in the airgun world and in this forum.
So let me introduce my self, my names is marco and i am from germany.
My english is not good, sry for this.
so the first problem i had was to get a cricket to germany, the german law says no airguns with more than 7.5 joule.
After several months of talking to customs, police and and paying a lot of money for special autorization, import, tax and rebuild to 7,5 joule, i finally got my .177 cricket :8: .
After about 7000 shots, i tuned it a little, like in the ernest videos.
I shot a view thousand shots more, without any problem, till yesterday.
Yesterday i noticed the shots were 2 mildots to low, then at about 120 bar all the air blew out of the cylinder.
I have no idea what this could be.
Perhaps a leaking regulator?
Could someone tell me where to get a o ring list?

Slingshots… yes, not all of them are banned :biggrinn:
When i was 12 years it was no problem to buy a butterfly knife(ballisong).
then a view people hurt them self, by playing around and now its banned.
go working, pay tax, and shut your mouth, thats the german way of life :8: oh and drink a lot of beer

Wow, BB and pellet guns are really just over looked here in the states,,,
I think things are changing fast, Here in Odessa you can not fire a bb or pellet gun in the city, You can not have one in your where about after dark, You can have a CHL but not a bb gun as all the kids go around and shoot car windows out,
Since I am out of the city limits I can shoot any thing, But with houses all around you got to use a little common sense.
AS long as I am not putting any one in danger I am 100% to go,
Mike

Our countries think differently, if anyone can carry guns to defend themselves, anyone can carry guns to hurt themselves as well. If guns are easy to get a hold of like in the states, anyone can get a gun and kill people, rob people and do other bad things.

The ironic thing is, that logic only applies if the bad people actually follow the law, wich of course they don’t, so getting guns is easy for criminals but impossible for good people

It all sounds good to the ignorant voters but for people with intelligence? I guess there aren’t enough of us 😉

Wow, guys I think I have said this before, but that was 7.5 J law in Germany ?
I think I would buy me a sling shot,
Why so strict laws?
I carry a 380 or a 9mm pistol just about every where I go,
Just to protect myself and my family,
God bless the USA,
Mike

Not as strickt like in germany, but we have the same problen :biggrinn:

Terrible, 10j max without a license and no hunting unless you have a specific hunting license wich is hard to get for airguns. And some pests like magpies (if I remember correctly) are only allowed to be shot if the airguns can produce 150 Joules wich not a lot of airguns can do.

If you want more than 10j (leagally) but you’re not a hunter then you need to be active member for 6 months in a shooting club etc etc. Long story short, a lot of people don’t follow the law, simply because the law is bullshit

I had to set mine 3 turns after touch, now i shoot 70 pellets from 250 to 170 bar at 900 fps, thats ok for shooting at my backyard.
Hole in hole at 25 meters, i think 30 yards?
I wish the laws in germany were not this strict, even the airgun guys at the shootingrange have to shoot at max. 7.5 joule…
And small game hunting is a crime even at your own backyard.
How are the laws in your country?

Yes correct word, my valve is set half a turn from when it touches the valve spring

Today i solved the problem (is solved the coreckt word?) I gave the valve pin a little more tention, now it does not leak.
i think after thousands of pellets the cap where you can adjust the valve spring tention unscrewed it self a view milimeters.
Thank you guys for the fast help!
great forum!

is it easy to get a spare valve pin for a cricket? you need that.

If i find a website in europe where i can order a valve pin, it will be no problem

To kris

I changed the hammer spring to a lighter one,set the regulator at i believe about 115 bar and i turned the barrel a little so that the transfer port and the hole in the barrel are not in the same direction.
totally annoying, when the bullet office testet it, it had about 6 joule.
They marked it with an “f” for free weapon and when i was at home again ich changed all back to original :biggrinn:

In summer next year i will try to import an benjamin armada, but this will be much more difficult

my guess is your valve stem/seal seat is not sealing.

when you have a imperfect/worn seal, it may be ok at high pressure and at low pressure bizzarly it will spit the dummy out.
when it leaks out, with the pellet probe in, is it coming through the barrel right?

Yes out of the barrel

quote Cricket:

Could be a lot of things. Maybe your valve has unscrewed itself?

I sent you an Email with the parts diagram. There you will find all o-rings

Thank you very much, i will change all o rings
