Get The Blue Jay Custom Foregrip!
GTBJ made me (his adopted red headed step child) this awesome wood foregrip for my condor. Not only does it compliment the racy lines of the rifle, it feels great and the width is perfect for laying atop a sandbag. We decided on adding a swivel stud to allow me to mount the bipod on the arm because I needed the space in front of the arm to mount the IR illumination for Night Vision. See pics below.
Now for the funny stuff. When I took the stock grip off my safety pin and spring came flying out. I never did find that little spring, although GTBJ has offered some innovative replacements, i.e. Bic lighter, spring pens, etc. I ordered two from airforce for backups they are only 2.00 each. I will post more pics when I have the grip mounted after it dries and I put a new spring in. I painted it with 3M rubberized undercoating. Thanks again to GTBJ for a job well done…simply Masterful 8)

be carful with how much you put in the dado, I made it with fairly tight tolerances 😉
stripped off the rubberized undercoating. The texture was awesome, but it remained very rubbery and I fear it would never have cured hard enough for a rifle stock…Thus far I have put six coats of bed liner on, I think another 6 coats should give me a texture close to the ideal of the rubberized undercoating. I will post pics when done.

3M. But I am not sure I will keep it that way. I like the way it looks, but if it does not harden sufficiently, I may strip it down and use something else. Any suggestions????

Thanks Scott, I put a few coats in there, then I taped it off for the remaining coats…Its coming out nice. My friend said there is this stuff called “Chip guard” that comes in cans and he said that it has the same texture as the undercoating (rubberized), but it dries rock hard. I will see if I can find some…if not, the bed lining is going to be just fine. Hopefully i will have it back together this week. I received a new toy from Adam…a wokbutt! can’t wait to try out my newly revised bird 8)
