Q:

Getting it off my hairless chest

Last week I received an email from a member on here, I am not going to state who but he sent it to an email address that is not listed with this forum. Not sure how he got it but anyways the email bothered me a little. Basically it stated that I post to just post, why do I have to thank someone every time they post something, that I got the Sir Vill and SeCoda to post just post. I have no street creditability with PCP so to basically lay low. I replied back but that person never answered the email.

To keep it simple, that’s not how social media and forums work. This is a Cricket, Edgun and Bullpup forum. Connecting like minded people together. There are two types of users when it comes to forums, the passive user (lurker) and the active user. People who wants to keep the forum alive and think of topics to keep it going. Which usually leads to new ideas or new information that you may not be aware of. You see a lot of regular members on here and after talking to them a while you want to find out more about them. That is why I started the thread Bullpup owners – About Us: http://www.talonairgun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=27223

When someone contributes to that thread, I always thank them and try to relate to them. I didn’t create it just to create it and have it lost in cyber space. I read every entry. In this day in age of technology, many are hesitant about sharing even their first name and their occupation. So when they break that barrier I think that is a big contribution. I’ve enjoyed every submission and learn from everyone. A lot of the forum guys are sarcastic so if you can’t take a joke, you might get butt hurt. My advice to the lurkers, be more active it makes it a better experience. I don’t post just to try to rack up the numbers and catch up to the 4000 mark. That’s crazy. However, I do get excited when I see a new member with single digits contributing.

We get questions on here all the time and most of the time it is a question that has been asked 100x. How do I insert that icon with the dude hitting the horse? It doesn’t take a genius to know what the answer is when it is asked again. I try my best to help out a member in need of an answer. If it is an opinionated question that I don’t have experience with first hand but I know what have been said before, I’ll always credit others and say based on past post blah blah blah. Then usually the gurus chime in.

In regards to instigating Sir Ville and Secoda or the likes to post just to post, I can’t control them, if they want to post their orange ford focus(i know its an audi) or air gun fetish that’s out of my hands 🙂

One last thing, no question is a dumb question like they always say in classrooms. Please treat this forum as such.

Thanks
Donny

I just saw this. I resemble those remarks. I am imagining an orange Ford Focus.

Just ignore it.

Thank you everyone for your kind words and support 🙂 Operation “posting machine” back in action. J/K!

Hi Donny, don’t let it get you down. Unfortunately, there will always be that element. I live in Florida also and have enjoyed air rifles since I was a kid and wanted to learn more about my hobby. What I have discovered is that there are a lot of knowledgable people here on this forum and in the sport of airgunning that are ready and willing to help you with solid advice. Don’t let some joker dampen your spirit. The spirit of this forum for which it was intended is fulfilled everyday by networking, asking and giving advice with a little healthy banter from time to time. Keep doing what you do, you are among friends here.

yep, no way that was from an admin. they publicly lambast anyone that crosses them.

And that´s the way it should be done. Kudos !

Donny I was jokin when I said you are a postin machine, I always like your post. If someone has a problem with you posting they obviously don’t know that’s how we all learn. That’s one problem with this world , to many ass holes!!!!!!!!! Mind your own business if you don’t like it don’t read it. 😀 good day

Uh, the title is more information than we need to know.

I was about to say…….Asian (southeast) don’t have chest hair..lol. Don’t let it bother you brother, not even worth it.

Yup, at first I thought it was an admin who sent it but when I looked at the email address that it was sent to, it was my business email address which I do not give out or use to register any forums. I checked all the admin names and it was none of them. So this person must of did a thorough google search on me landed on my business page somehow and sent an email to the email address displayed. I don’t know the member’s user ID but I can figure out his name from the email address. Not someone whom I can recall interacting with. I won’t list the name either, I’d rather keep it positive. Just a reminder to everyone that this is an open forum and if you are not interested in the thread or post just skip it. Newbies who are excited to get back into the game should be encourage to ask and participate rather than asked to be hushed. 🙂 This forum has helped me a lot and I am passing on the knowledge and doing my part 😀

someone sent you an email trying to promote forum ethics for the talonairgun forum???

that’s too funny. there’s only one rule around here: do NOT piss-off the admins.

Don´t mind that gutless prick. You post whatever you want to post and every now and then i´ll slip in a pic of my orange Focus. I quess the Forum is here for people to ask questions, share what they know and when there´s nothing else on the menu then just talk BS about airguns and whatnot.
And whoever that dumbass is if he has some issues about what you/we talk about in a thread you started then he can do us all a favor and stay away from it.

Edit: Just to bother him even more i´ll add a pic of one of my dumb dogs in that thread.

Hmm if it were me that got that email…I would have posted it up so that we all know who the dick was….I had my runnin with some members but it was for all to see here on the forum but I didn’t get upset at what the other posters were saying because in no way words are going to discourage me from doing or saying what I want…prime example is hoot and syn…those guys can really speak their minds.

donny, i wonder how the sender got your email..

don’t worry about the presence or absence of hair on your chest.. your edgun matador is coming soon. 🙂

Hi Brother Donny;

Thanks Tony for providing this Forum…..

Cheers From Hemn .M, His New R3M on its way…….

Hey,

Don’t let others mess with you. Part of this great hobby is the anticipation of getting a new gun or piece of gear. Sharing your enthusiasm and willingness to learn is great. It’s what keeps this hobby alive and kicking.

I always get a high when I discover something new to me even if it is old to others. The people that say “been there, done that” sometimes need to keep their thought to themselves if they are not being helpful. Imagine that. Too bad life is not like that.

Hang in there bro

Gabe
