Q:

Good 3/8" to weaver base?

Just ordered a new scope for my Condor and need to use a weaver or picanty base. Who makes good ones?

I have only one rifle (RWS/Diana-34P) with barrel droop that requires a Canted scope rail to zero. Used the UTG 11mm to weaver canted adapter with Weaver Top Mount rings. Worked as advertised!

If you mount the scope very high, Tri rail with extra high rings, or trying to zero @ 10yds, you might need canted rings or base. I have used medium and high rings uncanted with good results. To zero @ 40yds.

The Airforce air rifles don’t suffer barrel droop, but most mount scopes extremely high. Which can run out of elevation when zeroed @ 10yds.

I am a Burris Signature rings addict. They never scratch a expensive scope and with offset inserts can be allighned perfectly. I can`t get 30 mm Burris rings for the 3/8″ dove tail. Other wise I would be fine with taller rings.

Why can’t you just use a set of high rings? I am confused with all the adapting to make accessories work on AF rifles.. maybe they should take a hint

The main reason I use the 11mm -weaver adapters (not rings) is so I can switch scopes with rifles very quickly , and I can use the same scopes with my powder burners without having to buy 3 or four Leupold’s

All my rings are weaver so I can use them on any rifle I have . The standardization makes it super simple to swap out scopes and rings to any rifle I have .

I used to use BKL rings on all my air guns ,(great mounts) but they dont fit on my weaver mounted PB rifles. It can get expensive to to have scope rings for air rifles and scope rings for PB and mutiple scopes .

Now I can pop one off my mini 14 or 10/22 on to my condor in a few seconds or on to my rws 34 .

Its a really fast system and its cheaper than buying ten scopes ten rings, for ten rifles .

just put on a weaver adapter to any new rifle and Im set. You really only need one or two very good scopes .

Works for me anyhow.

High 11mm dovetail BKL rings work great, had a pair, sold ’em to Pablouk.

I wanted to use two scopes with three rifles. One with weaver bases and two with 11mm dovetails. So I adapted the 11mm to weaver bases, and use weaver base rings on the two scopes. With Leupold QRW rings and Weaver Detachable Top Mount rings , I can use all the scopes with all my rifles.
