Q:

Got a spare barrel..? I found a great way to store an extra

Greetings all,
I have a Condor in .22 cal and it has a 12″ and a 24″ bbl. I have the 12 in it now and needed a place to safely store the 24″ one. I was at Home Depot today and bought a 2 foot long piece of sched 40 1″ plastic pipe. It was $1.43 and I bought 2 end caps at $.51 each. I had a small package of silica gel (Don’t eat it) and added this to the pack. It fit so well, I would have thought it was made for it. Also could be a nice way to send a BBL thru the mail. Just get a longer piece and prop both end with paper towels. Then when you want to open it, cut it with a hack saw. Glueing the end caps on will make it pilfer proof…

Hope that this might help someone, too…

Great idea Bill.
Where in Spokane do u live? I used to live on East street back in 78′-79′. Then moved to Sandpoint where I stayed till 91′ when I moved down here, after I got out of the Navy in 89′.

Sounds like an excellent idea, I could put an extra in the back pack and change it out during a hunting expedition…..

You shall learn that PVC pipe is good for a lot of shit. Especially pipe bombs.

Great idea Bill.

It would be interesting though after trying this for a while to see how many people accidently saw into their barrel when removing it from the plastic “case”. 😛

nice storage idea and shipping as well but the pvc adds a bit of weight to it and shipping cost would go up but it is a very protected holder
and dont glue on end caps use packing tape quick story i was shipping some carbide studs for a snowmobile to a buddy and used a pvc pipe with glued on end caps and it wasnt a good thing walking into the us post office with a “pipe bomb” after the cops were there and cut the package open they said not to do it again they need to inspect the package befor shipping becuse it could be a pipe bomb
it was a hairy moment have 3 cops come in from the 2 doors with guns drawn 😯

Another SWAT deployment diverted…Good job crowpopper
