Got my Chrony today, it seems to malfunfuction
First of all, it does not turn off unless you disconnect the battery.
If you install the battery in it and it is turned off it displays lb and then flashes to one of these symbols [] or UU or AL.If you turn it on with the battery in it it does the same thing, and this has changed as I play with it.
If I turn it on without na battery then install the battery, I get the correct symbolAL with the flashing “cups” upside down and then right side up on each side of AL.
If I then turn it off with the battery in it I get the sybol LB then it flashes to AL with a right side up cup sy;bol on both sides.
Turn it back to on and then it is the lb and AL with cups right side up.
I tried it with the airarcher on a cloudy day here and it worked, but AI did not try to retireve information, just shot over it, and it seemed to work.
I also get err 1 and err2, about the screens not reading when I put the battery in and it is turned off. These displays seem to change.
I put a new battery in it from a blister pack dated 2010 and tested it with my volt meter at 9volts exactly, which does seem low, being as a 12 volt car battery would test 12.8 or 12.9 fully charged. I lived in a battery powered underground house so I have this shit at my disposal.
I tried to call CHrony, but the number is disconnected.
Do you have to disconnect the battery to shut these things down, or will it try to go thru my computer and control the world and Obama, and launch missles and notify Governor Arnold Swarzenigger?

Well it is all boxed up to send back to Chrony.
At least I know how fast the arrows are going.
It took 7 tries to print the letter that went with it, the computer kept seizing up.
I will take it to the post office to send out, as soon as my car gets fixed.

I have seen too many good reports on the CED.
There are 2 versions available and lots of parts.

The above model is not related to the CED M2.
The only other Chrony that was raved about was the Oehler no longer produced.
I’m keen on a CED but our damn money is worth a crap and and falling beneath the crap level arrrgh! This is one of the major deciding factors.
The Mellenium 2 looks awesome and has some good features.

At the end of the day after some more research and a few edits.
Most chronographs are not what they could be, or should be.
All depending on the money spent.

Yeah, good thing I live in the sticks and not close to factories.
I write a lot of glowing reports on things that work well, like the Airarcher and the bolt subsonnic made me.
But feces is feces.
Having said that, everybody and everything fucks up occaisionaly, that is why I have an erasor on the end of my pencil, nothing is perfect.
Sure can get frustrating tho

I want to buy one of the Chrony units.
I was looking at the Beta cause its blue, from Manventureoutpost.com
But who knows, sounds like a tin of Gamo pellets.
You never know what your going to get.
I have seen some other units for more money however.
Considered buying the CED M2 but they are twice the price.
Re: Your battery on off.
Why dont you wire a switch into a battery clip.
Then you could flick it on and off as required.
However I would probably send it back and upgrade.
The only way to be sure you wont get the same unit back 😛

I did and it gives readings I got 40015 fps with the goldtip arrows and 375 with the easton 2413’s, but I haqve only been able to get it in that mode 3 times in 2 or 3 hours of manipulating it. Even under incorrect lighting, to bright, you whould get different readings that what are displayed.
And like I said, it does drain those batteries, so I am typing a letter and I will try to be polite about the unit I waited months for that doesn’t work worth a fuck.
Did I mention I am disapointed?

It is a faulty unit, exchange it or get a refund.

Mine gave me fits until I installed the sky screens. I used it in the basement and the floresent lights freek it out. I unplug the floresent closest to the chrono and use a drop light. I have had much better luck with screens installed. I know that does not answwer the switch question. Not sure what brand I have but the switch shuts it OFF
Well I emailed Chrony, I will see waht the reply is, I also notice that this thing really drains these 9 volt batteries fast.
No wonder, it gives off sybols faster than a chinese deaf mute with palsey, trying to write where is the shitter on the side of a speeding bus.

THis thing is giving out about every code in the book and a lot of codes not in the book, just sitting here on the table. I called the dealer, Airgun depoe and they didn’t know, but they said they remove the battery when they are not using their unit, I did not get a definate on whether the off switch actually turns theirs off, but one would think it should.
I found another battery that tests well above 9 volt and installed it, nothing changed, still the weird codes.
I just disconnected/connected the battery and I get err 1 which means that the front screen did not read the bullet flight. One would suppose so, I didn’t shoot over the thing! If I press the FU button it says …1 then -[]-.
I guess I will try plan B and email chrony. The phone number given gives a recording that says this mobile phone account is disconnected, which is so reasuring.

DAMMITMAN!!! I hate it when that happens..I know just how you feel….but , like you said, everything FU occasionly…..your luck is like mine..you got the only bad one out of probably 5,000. 😥 😥 😥 The Alpha (red) that I got has worked flawlessly for MANY MANY hours..Fix yourself a quart-size margarita and chill..send it back and get a replacement…… Right now I KNOW it sucks, but once you get the replacement and see how nice they do work, you’ll be glad ya did…in the meantime, would you hand me the tequila and salt shaker 😎 😎 😎
