got my stubby extreme today
.25 with shroud, Randy’s extreme valve, heavy hammer, spin loc and short maddog stock, very comfortable to shoot, 7 1/2 pounds with a scope, and shoots kodiaks at 940 FPS for 57 FPE. 🙂
fps dropped about 3fps per shot, pretty consistent drop from a 3,000 fill, didnt do enough testing to see where it would drop off, went down to about 2400 in my short test before dark.
if the rain holds off tomorrow, i’ll do some trigger time on targets at 50 yards with an assortmrnt of pellets to check for accuracy, but a rough sight in on a 10″ steel plate at 50 yards looked very promising.

My Extreme was beyond powerful with Jerry’s six ring slugs. You could drop a deer with those rascals!!!
The 12″ barrel is ok. I had Jim Gaska, Marmot_Militia cut an LW 14″ barrel for it and the power became almost frightening.
The Extreme Valve is a miracle of power.
The shroud can be improved with a one piece insert.
See the “For Sale” section for Jerry’s slugs, and “Shrouds and Moderators” for someone to mill you an insert. There are some very talented people on there.

Alright I ordered the stubby extreme….
I went with the shroud and spin loc
I have another scope high mount coming..
Nervous..never had an airforce before
I like my multi shots but this looks too cool

I agree with the shroud. Just appearance alone, if it was the same diameter it would look great , let alone the function aspect.
Tomorrow, I was going to put in order in. Not sure of this shroud.
Too bad there is not an multi shot adapter magazine for the stubby. 😎

Randy highly recomended the JSB exact, and they are very accurate. With the other pellets i tried all had between a slight spiral and a windmill, when viewed thru the scope. the JSB has no spiral at all, and groups about 1″ at 50 yards. I get 16 shots at 62 FPE! then 4 more with power dropping slightly, then it falls off a cliff, enough for me as a hunting rifle thoug.
The PW was set by Randy at 11.7 and i keft it there (ok, i fiddled with it a little, made thingsworse, and brought it back to around 12)
The shroud is the only part i’m mildly disappointed in. It’s ok, it does a decent job of quieting it down, it has what looks like stock mrod baffles in it. I feel that if it was the same diameter as the tube, it would do a much better job of making the gun quiet.

I have not had a Condor or Airforce , it looks like it has a powerwheel.

I do not have a maurader probably add that to my collection.
But from seeing the youtube videos on the mauraude sounds like then the stubby extreme is quiet.
I am still thinking myself which scope i want.

It’s a little louder then my 25 marauder, but it’s twice as much power, so i think it’s good.
I’m going to say I get 20 good shots per fill, but to be honest, i havent paid attention to shot count yet. I’m getting 62 FPE using eun jin 36 gr pellets.
I have some jsb exact on order, should be delivered today, it seems to be very fussy aboutpellets, msny of them you can see the spiral thru the scope, baracuda is the best, but Randy recomended the jsb..
I have an elite 2.5 – 10 * 40 on it right now, not sure if this will stay, I may get something that has AO and more power

I got mine without the Maddog stock and with the TSS frame.
The Extreme valve is a powerhouse, but also consumes a LOT of air with a 12″ barrel if you want to go hot.
I’m keeping mine in the 875 fps region (with JSB 25.4 gr) and can get just about 20 useable shots per fill, starting from 2800 psi.
i wanted to get some pellets thru it before the sun went away

I agree with the shroud. I have it now and yes it is nice but when I compare to what the rest of my guns specifically FX guns. It could be more quiet and look better.
I keep trying to search and read as much as I can
as mention I know nothing about the talon and extreme guns but. I still do not understand the power levels. I have a chrony that is brand new, never used in 3 years, but the next day I will set it up.
Is there a link you suggest to explain for dummies the power settings on the extreme. Randy explained but I still did not understand.
