who would be interested in a shroud that had the dovetails milled into it so it matched the existing frame of the gun? and if such a product was avail. would you be willing to pay a little more if it were a well made piece and competed with the sound reduction of other major ones out there?

I don’t believe a simple extension of the “shroud” could be considered a moderator. Otherwise, the original shroud would also be a moderator. A 1″ inside diameter tube shouldn’t be any big deal… But then again… We ARE talking about the BATF… Nevermind… 😯

Hurry..i am about to buy a shroud for an 18″ barrel…..I would much rather have one like you are suggesting…

AF should up the ante. Make the condor frame 12″ longer and call it the CondorSS.
Moderators are very iffy when it comes to the BATF…They problably don’t want to get into that cat fight…..I know I wouldn’t
I sincerely wonder why AF doesn’t offer barrel shroud extrusions for just that purpose… Yes, I’d pay a LITTLE more for a shroud that matched.
I think the more it looks like part of the rifle the better….I would pay a little more for that…..Make a proto….

Nail hit on the head. I’ll go one further, Make it so you could disconnect it further back towards the handle/bolt and drop a 12” barrel in and have a bull pup rifle.
