Gotta Love TX200
Hey guys, while coming back from work this morning I saw couple of dozens of pigeons out in the corn field. Yes, it was a very unusual spot for them, I’ve seen crows and voulchers before, but pigeons on the corn field? There were no corn, just a soil so the visibility was excellent.
Not sure what was going on among them, but I had my .22 TX200MK3 with me; I was showing the gun to one of my co-workers and he was more than impressed with its accuracy. He said he would never have thought that an airgun “can do that.” Ha. Anyway I pulled over, and that was a remote area with only one FM road and the one and only subdivision (mine) about 10 miles out. I rolled the passenger window down and rested the gun on the sweater. It looked like 65+ yards. Played with an objective and focused sharply at 70. I picked the fattest pigeon that was kinda guarding couple of females – probably a pimp 😆 The gun was sighted in for 50 yards few months ago and was dead nuts since. The scope is Bushy Legend. Ammo: Beeman FTS @ 18+ FPE. The cross wind was light, approximately 10 mph. I held over two dots, and half of dot to the left. POP! All went up in the air except for one. Man, there is nothing like a long-range kill shot with a springer!
I was tired and hungry so I went home thinking I’d return to nail some more. After the breakfast I went back to the same spot and I also took my range finder. The pigeons were gone. The dead one was still out there.
74 YARDS. I’ll be damned.

You know it buggs me now, what they were doing out in the corn field. These are mostly city rats, but like I said, the closest “people” place was 10 miles out. Yeah, I’ve seen them before couple of other times, but that was some time ago. Usually there are cow birds, crows, predator birds, and so forth, but pigeons…?
Anyway, thanks for reading.
