True enough!

quote knifemaker:

It will be tougher than simple color anodizing, but no where as tough as true hard anodizing. Which is around 70-74 Rockwell Hardness. some even harder than that. to put this in prespective. A file is 58 to 66 Rc. depending on the type of file. Soft anodizing, has no hardness at all. Just the hardness of the material being anodized. What ever that may be in any given material.

Problem with anodizing is getting a few pieces done at a time is not cheap or easy.

photo22 & airtight python,
It works, just make sure everything is clean and no handprints.
follow the directions and you will not be dissapointed.

If that stuff is really tuffer than factory anodizing jobs I”ll have to give it a whirl. Would be cheaper than me buying a battery charger and the other stuff to anodize at home.

Brushy Bill, Thanks for the Info. I just may try that on some parts I have. 😀

Your welcome, this stuff will hold up way better than regular anodize.
Where I live, you have to pay a $75 min for reg anodize, $90 for hardcoat anodize. This stuff is dangeroulsy close to hardcoat as far as durability goes and you can get colors. I built a 1000 yd rifle for a friend and used this stuff 4 years ago and it still looks great. He probably shoots 20 matches a year.
It is not cheap, but it is good. Just make sure everything is CLEAN.

Wow, that would make the camo job I’ve been thinking of a lot more durable.

Thanks for the info and link!

Yes, it is tougher than wood pecker lips.
Check out the videos below at the bottom of their page.

Now that is some good shit.

I like Dura Coat but this is much easier to apply and deal with.

I am going to have to get some of that stuff.
