Great Idea for Mini Mill or any mill

On YouTube I came across several guys converting an impact wrench for a draw bar release for their mill and it worked great.

I went out and bought one and must say it works great. I have not mounted it permanetly to the mill yet, but I did suspend it above the mill head from the ceiling on a bungy cord. I simply pull the impact wrench down and release the draw bar in seconds.

No more wrenchs, just fast simple tool changes.

One day I will build a mount for it on the mill. But until then I am really enjoying the quick tool change on the mill

I have been using it for the past week. I love it, I can never go back to the wrench.

I think I am not even going to mount it and just leave it suspended over the mill. It is just to easy to use that way

Thanks WOK. I knew there had to be more good reasons I ran a compressed air manifold behind my mill!

I think it was on CNC cookbook I saw about people use that style impact wrench for tapping aswell.

Sounds like a good idea. I hate fooling around with the spanner wrench that I need to tighten and loosen mine.
