Grip improvement

Like most I’ve seen, my grip was a bit rough from the factory.

Even after some work with a file and some emery paper is was at best OK. It was smooth and square, and the sharp rib on the seam was gone, but it didn’t lend itself to a less than perfect grip.

I then tried adding a Hogue Handall Jr. grip sleeve, the one intended for small frame autos like the PPK (AR 15 is listed on the package):

The results are great, to be recommended. In one step I got a finger groove, useful palm swell and excellent gripping surface. Now a less than perfect grip is very secure and leads to good trigger control. For such a small thing, it’s a big improvement. For under ten bucks you can try it and easily go back if you do’t like it.
