Grips
I came across a Pachmayr —-slip-on grip #2 and tried it along side the Hogue grip. Just me, but I kinda like the Pachmayr better. Anyone else tried these?

Like Python said, it’s like a hair dryer on steroids.
They’re a handy solution for heating tasks that don’t require the full-on muscle of your basic propane or MAPP-gas torch. Can’t remember the reason why I bought it in the first place (except maybe that I was in HF with a coupon and I had to buy SOMETHING 🙄 :lol:), but I’ve found it to be incredibly useful in a number of different household and hobby tasks.
You oughta get one. 😉

Instead of filling the voids, I used a heat gun. The heat shrank the Hogue so it conformed perfectly with the grip. You gotta go slow so you don’t actually melt anything, and make sure you heat all sides of the Hogue equally, top to bottom. You might have to go back a day later to reheat any slack areas that didn’t fully shrink.
Worked perfectly.

Yeah, the only thing with both grips is that you need to put some form of padding or material to fill in the voids between the Airforce Grip and the Houge grip. The Houge grip was designed for a handle with larger volume/mass.
The scope combo was a Leapers 4-16x56mm w/Yukon NVMT Gen2 and a Nikko Sterling 3-10 x 50mm w/Yuko NVMT Gen 1.
That was a much older pic. My mounting systems have been modified, and I also use the Yukon mounting system now. i still make cheap, low down and dirty mounts for my friends who don’t want to spend a $100 for the mounting system.

I put the Hogue on first, found the Pachmayr by accident. I to like it better for the same reason.

I have both actually. I prefer the Pachmayr as it fit the stock grip a bit better. It doesn’t have the curve at the end that is designed for the newer grips, such as a P99.

I tried one of the pachmayer grips once, it took 2 iron workers and a 4wd tractor to get it on, but was nice after that.
