Q:

groupings

first off i got some nice free targets to print from http://www.uspalma.com now for my question i cant get my condor to group for shit 😥 . im shooting preimeres with pw turned as low as it can be turned from a card table with my bipod at about 35yds flier every third or fourth shot off by over inch inch and a half. im assuming its due to the light weight. i have some eun jin 28 gr. in the mail and im hoping this will remedy my situation as i purchased this from all the great accuracy reviews i had seen. dont have a chrony and only pressure gage is the one on my pump. usually fill to 27-2900psi. any suggestions or comments will be greatly appreciated as u all sound very knowledgeable in the intricasies of these rifles. thanx in advance and happy shooting ken

ups just brought my eun jin 28gr. pellets. 2900psi bottle pressure. p/w on 2. same card table, same bipod. ONE dime sized hole 😀 . now thats the way i expected this gun to shoot :8 . bought 4 tins and have 4 tins of kodiaks on backorder, so the preimers are gonna be for the the boys crossman 1100. i figured it was due to the light weight but now i know for sure. thanx for all the replies and suggestions this site is awesome 😀 . ill try to post some pix if i can find the ole ladys digital camera. happy shooting(it is for me now) ken

Mam what is a regulated Hpa system I am a
new guy posted some targets you look at and have also got some
really nice .500 groups I am right now using 22 cal Kodiaks but I
am going ot order some of the heavier ones in 28grI just recieved
some jsb 18.1 can’t wait to try them, I am in the process of having
fun!! going to lower my power wheel per what I have been reading
on the forum, shot last night at it set at 2 on the main and 6 on the
wheel going to try some at lower settings I think it will still shoot
the speeds I am wanting 950 to 1000 is good for me and kind of
what you shoot and others have been getting excellent results
the Condors like the heavy pellets and I kind of figured they would
at those speeds which is great Eddie

Here is one of my setups…It is a AF co2 adapter with a 2,200psi
output reulator from Airhog….My other setup is a regulator
from JDSairman and has a 2,100psi output.

Here is a target at 65yds. The black circles are 1/4″ in size.

aws do u have a shroud? if so u could be cliping some
also as stated the hold is sensative with these guns

Jeff,

If you don’t mind.. What are you running your condor at to get
those speeds for the Jsb 18.1’s. I’m not sure how low I dare to go
with the TH setting before I start hitting the brass? By the way..
Very nice shooting!! You are so right about the hold.

T.J. I am using a regulated HPA system with a 2,200psi output….
It doesn’t compare to the Condor bottle and air valve so I really can
give ya any advice there…
Sorry…

The stability of the card table could be a factor, I was having some trouble in my groups and it was the table moving.

I am shooting JSB 18.1gr @ 1,030-1,050FPS with great results…It is
not unusual to see 1/2 groups at 65yds….Do a little experimenting
with how you are holding the rifle and also try putting the gun on
something more stable than just the tripod. Follow through trying to
keep the crosshairs on the POI until after you hear the pellet hit…
I think you will find that it is hard to do….If the groups tighten up
while the gun is stabilized then you will know it is not the gun…..
I have seen times when I have shot 10 rounds with the same point
of aim, with 2 different holds and had 2 seperate 1/2 groups.

Also double check you barrel set screws and make sure the tank
stays screwed in tight….
Let us know how things progress….
Most of all have fun…

Try the 28 gr for the condor. At those speeds any little variation in the pellet becomes magnified, any breeze might shift them. The 21 gr might work but I stick with the 28gr, the 32gr are a tight fit in the barrel and some people like them, I dont care to have to pop them in the barrel every shot. All an all there’s a lot of things that affect tight groups. It takes a while for each person to tweek out all the things that might be affecting them.

I’m no expert, and perhaps some one will correct me if I’m wrong, but your probably pushing those premiers past the speed of sound and loosing stability because of it. The heavier pellets have a better BC. Mine loves the EJ’s and it is less accurate with the lighter pellets.
